Install Transit Tracker - Providence app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Transit Tracker,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Transit Tracker" » then Click "Install".
- Transit Tracker - Providence will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Reliable, with a (minor?) annoyance

Previously, this app worked like a charm and only used your location if the app was running. Within the past few months, the Location Services settings no longer gives the option to use location while the app is in use. Now, it's either always or never use my location. So be faced with constant background app battery drain or have to open Location Services every time you want to use the app.... In the interest of our battery lives, I hope the developers have a way to restore the "while in use" location services option!
Not worth the cost even when it is free

I develop software GUIs for a living and I would basically fire all programmers who worked on this and start over. First, the ads keep popping over the display and then a compass comes up spinning. This requires you to kill the app and start over. There is no way to specify in or out bound. The bus numbers seem randomly picked and when they come the wrong number is displayed. It uses as the crow flies for distance rather than walking distance. Doesn't handle multiple buses at stop at same time well. Let me give developers a hint: hand the app to naive users and see how they handle it. Then fix what is confusing. Don't sit in ivory towers sipping lattes taking about the latest Dr Who. Take to the streets. Duh.
Needs some improvements

A good idea for frequent or new RIPTA users. But needs some clarification on some points. Routes should be designated not only by the number but also North or South. A few words next to times to clarify what the person is looking at. Is it telling me it's a 17 minute trip or the bus will arrive at my stop in 17 minutes? Once implemented you'll have a great travel tool and people will be grateful

This is a must have! Shows your location and when the bus is expected to arrive. Give or take some minutes for driver style and you have a good gauge for your ride! So easy!
