Zen Koi Classic for Pc

I used to think gaming apps just weren’t for me. Frantic, spasmodic tapping, frustrating levels & scores combined with neon-bright, loud, in your face graphics is how I thought of gaming apps. Until ZenKoi... Minimal, modern yet elegantly beautiful layout, background, graphics transport you to a place of relaxation. Just guide your koi along the pond, as it eats & grows, & even mates! A simple swirling dance, & you have an egg that’ll create a new koi! The end goal: to guide the koi through life, until it reaches maturity, & is ready to begin again as a dragon... You part ways, & focus on a baby koi who’s waiting on you in the nursery! I know many people get frustrated with how few eggs you can have in the nursery—the eggs don’t hatch immediately; many take hours, days, even weeks—so you can’t mate every koi w/ every passing mate. You can purchase more slots, which to me is worth it as a show of gratitude to developers! BTW I’ve heard there’s a sequel, where you can interact with your koi after he’s transformed into a dragon! I’m still enthralled by the original, & haven’t tried the one yet, but I am looking forward to it!

the app Koi has had premium currency in-app-purchases (IAP) for as long as I've had the app. A forced update added advertisements which disrupt the flow and kill the the app vibe that was the game's main selling point. Now, the fullscreen ads are making the app constantly crash to desktop. They destroyed their own game in order to bombard it with ads. It's nearly unplayable in its current state. PS: If you can't even load the game, there is no excuse for giving it a rating higher than the lowest possible. A game that can't even be played should get the lowest possible marks. UPDATE: Unfortunately, it turns out that the ads for pearls (rewarded ads) are the ones causing most of the crashing. If the game only crashed when the rewarded ads ran, you could avoid the crashing by not playing the ads and missing out on those pearls. However, the crashes seem to be caused by the game contacting the server, so when the server is flaky, the game crashes constantly whether you avoid rewarded ads or not. LandShark contacted me. "For the app Koi, you can get rid of interstitial ads with any purchase in the game, even the cheapest but rewarded ads you can still use it to earn pearls." He does not deny that the ads are causing the crashes. He gives no indication that LandShark has any plans to fix it. His only suggestion - that I give his company money for a constantly crashing app full of ads and IAP - would not solve the problem. Caveat emptor.

I just got this game recently and I’m “hooked”-terrible pun intended. It’s very relaxing and fun, but I have just one problem-it seems like in order to even have a decent ‘collection’ of fish you need more slots-slots cost pearls-pearls cost real money, not to mention the fact that once you buy one slot the price goes up in seemingly incriminates of ten. Oh they do have videos you can watch to earn pearls if you don’t want to spend real money (like me, ballin on a budget) but you only get ONE pearl per video. I play plenty of other games that use this same video system and they give out more than just 1 of anything, making it still a bit grindy but not downright impossible. I have tons of baby fish to hatch and no slots for them, so just a suggestion-maybe give at least 3 to 5 pearls per video?

05/18: game continues to get buggier and I'm not talking about those in the pond- no consistency note speed of Koi and levels. Koi begin to move glacially slow without power ups despite advancing levels and then for a time to go and one normal speed's like when I first began playing the game I'm on able to account for the reasons for this change back-and-forth in the speed of the koi. -__--------------- Although the game is mostly intuitive and easy to figure out, there are some information gaps that it would be nice to have filled: 1. What are the dragon points for/how can they be used? 2. What is the purpose/benefit of cloning your koi? 3. Can't find purchase option for turning off ads following the app Koi level achievements. 4. Agree with other review that variety in food collection paths would be nice. 5. 100, 200, etc. pearls to purchase new Koi or egg slots is excessive given the overall slow rates of accumulation (without purchasing, that is). consider lowering please, and/or offer other options for gaining slots (e.g. challenges, bonus or surprise prey capture, random discovery in pond, etc. ) One last note: Play started fine for first couple of weeks but lately game has been freezing up, slowing down (Koi movement/speed), and/or sometimes displaying as "jerky" film.
