  • Disappointed

    By 🍀⚽️⛷danceplayski (Pcmac user)

At first, I thought this app would be a great way to study for my upcoming the app bee. But unfortunately, when I tried to join a class, it charged me $5. I think that you should be able to join classes freely. When I got into the app, it only let me have one board to use. I would suggest including more free boards to use. It is an awesome idea, but it could be executed better. I do like the many different the app games though. Another problem was the homophones. One of the words was “weight” and I was playing the the app bee minigame. They play a recording of the word, so I didn’t know if it meant “wait” or “weight”. I typed “wait” and it counted it as wrong. There should be a sentence option where you can see the word in a sentence. Again, in the true or false minigame, it showed the word “wait”. I knew that it was the correct the app of the word “wait”, so I pressed true. But I was told that I was incorrect. They meant “weight”. I do not think this word should be in the true or false game.
  • No sample

    By Loving2bmom (Pcmac user)

This app implies there is some measure of sample when it allows a download without purchase. This is the customary function of the Get button in the App Store. After downloading to the phone, nothing can be played without first paying $4.99. I would have happily paid that price for the app software I was happy with but I will not being giving any money to a developer that won’t give me even a sample, especially after I downloaded the app under the impression there would be at least something to see how the game worked. Either use the Get button, give a sample and option to unlock the rest of he app or put the price up front before download with better examples and explanation of why the app is worth the money up front. On top of that, I couldn’t even get a profile properly set up without internal error messages demanding a password. If I can’t even get a simple profile established in the settings, and I can’t see a sample, there isn’t a change I’ll waste $4.99 to try to go further with this app.
  • Freezes in Media Picker

    By Rjwak (Pcmac user)

Love that you can add your own the app lists, but when I go to change default pictures given to my words, the "Media Picker" has started freezing on me. What should take a few minutes takes forever, and I have given up on changing the pictures. Just for more fun, today I finally got the media picke web search to populate to choose a new picture for the word South. I clicked on a compass rose and when it expanded to full size, it was a marijuana leaf. It happened three times in a row with different pictures. About a week ago, I put in a new list and let the app populate default pictures. As I clicked through to preview/change individual pictures, I found a picture of a man's mid-section with his hand down his pants. Um, might want to work on your default picture selections. I can't remember what the word was.
  • Fun, but UI can sometimes be confusing

    By SeriouslyDave (Pcmac user)

Overall, I think the app is very much worth downloading. Pros: - The mini-games are simple and a lot of fun. - You can make your own deck (called a 'board') - You get a surprising number of mini-games to play when you build your own deck - Kids love being able to add pictures to go with the words. - The UI is highly customizable - No coins are required - No monthly fee in the base app Cons: - The UI is inconsistent and sometimes confusing on an iPhone (it is better on an iPad). The app really needs to follow Apple iOS design guidelines. - The help matches Bitsboard, which is a different game and doesn't completely match the app Bee. - Players do not get much of a visual reward when they get something right, just a green checkmark. How about something that would excite a kid instead of a teacher? :) For example, some fireworks or a cheering animal. --
