1. Motion Data Logger is a simple but effective way to collect motion data from your iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod touch) device and export it to a CSV file for further preprocessing.

2. Note: To enable the recording of your sensor data in background you need to permit your app the location tracking while your app is not in use.

3. After recording you can export the data to a CSV file and send it by email or save it to your Dropbox account directly.

4. You can select your preferred sampling rate as well as your maximum recording time or data points.

5. Please keep in mind, that continued use of location and sensor tracking in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

6. The app uses the built-in accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer hardware to gather all data.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Motion Data Logger,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Motion Data Logger" » then Click "Install".
- Motion Data Logger will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Waste of money.

I am a doctoral student doing research on the app utilizing accelerometers. I have used multiple apps recording accelerometer the app and this is by far the worst one that I have used. Every other time I utilize the app, it will crash before I have time to export the data. This has caused me to lose the app data that I was depending on for research. Moreover, the times that the app didn't work, after two recording sessions the app would freeze and need to be restarted, thereby causing me to lose the data from the second recording session. To have any chance of getting useful data from this app, you need to use it only one time before restarting it, and in that one time using it it will crash if running for over one minute and trying to export to either dropbox or email. After downloading other accelerometer apps, there were some that had downfalls, but this was by far the worst one that I used. I hope the developer will work on fixing this product so as to not mislead people into paying four dollars for an app that does not do as a claims.

Records data and sends it by email as a simple text file. CSV=Comma Separated Value...why the semicolons?? No fuss, works great.

Nice range of data types. Can customize frequency between 10Hz and 100Hz in 10 Hz intervals. Glad that it gives timestamps in real time and not relative. Have not yet tested the data. What are the units?
