The zoom does not work on this app

We purchased the xx59a and the xx60a cameras. The old app that came with the 1st xx59a, P2PCam264 works with zoom, but this app does not have the zoom feature. Even though the cameras have the zoom capability. Further, the new cameras don't work consistently with the old app.. The xx60a does not work with it at all.
We will probably return the cameras we just bought because the app is useless..if it were fixed we might reconsider
