Content Browser Mobile is a mobile application that allows remote control of Sony professional camcorders/recorders and CBK-WA100/101 Wireless Adapter. The app provides live operation, browsing, transfer, storyboard, planning metadata, TC link, and device settings features. It is compatible with iOS/iPadOS 14.0 to 15.5.

Download and install the Content Browser Mobile app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Content Browser Mobile functions

- Live operation: Monitor live video from camcorders/recorders, display the status of connected devices, remotely control focus, zoom, rec start/stop, and live logging (Essence Mark).

- Browse: Display the clip list, play clips, and edit metadata of clips.

- Transfer: Upload clips to FTP, FTPS, or other servers, upload clips partially by marking in and out points, download clips to mobile devices, and manage transfer jobs via job lists.

- Storyboard: Rough cut editing, upload clips partially and an EDL based on storyboards.

- Planning metadata: Name clips, assign Essence Mark lists to buttons, browse and upload related clips.

- TC link: Synchronize the timecode of multiple camcorders.

- Device settings: Make setting of network functions for connected devices.

✔ Pros:

- Allows remote operation of NXR-NX5R camera

- Can connect FS5 to iPad for live view and recording control

- Incompatibility issues with some devices after software updates

- Unable to monitor camera from mobile device after software update

- Does not work with PXW-X70 camera

- No playback of clips or browsing of content

How is it that it works with the FA5 but not the FS7??
Would be great…if it worked.

I already upgraded to the iPhone 6 Plus, but its not working with the PXW-X70. I simply get “device not found” on every device search. Turning the phone on and off and removing / reading the app does not help. It would be great if Apple would open up the NFC chip to 3rd parties…then I wouldn’t even be messing with WiFi. Oh well.

Love this app as I am able to remotely operate my NXR-NX5R. I just did a Software update on my mac device from iOS 10.2.1 to 10.3.1 and now I am unable to monitor the camera from my mobile device. Please help
basically nothing more than a remote control

Connects FS5 to iPad and allows live view and start and stop of recording, but does not allow any playback of any clips. Apparently you cannot “browse” any “the app”. The Gopro app works better than this.
