  • It works

    By Toxic Kumquat (Pcmac user)

I’m using Excel for MAC 2008 (upgraded from 2004). No trouble export as a .xlsx format and viewing in Excel. Excel-2008 and OpenOffice-4 can open both .xlsx and .csv version. Make sure to select “sperated by comma” checkbox for OpenOffice. You might have to clean up a few rows if using .xlsx in OpenOffice (best to use .csv). Seeing ALL my contacts as a spreadsheet, helps me “clean up” all the contacts, making sure older entries or accidental entries (putting email into a telephone field . . ) is fixed. I can also combine various spreadsheets from other devices (iCloud will make this obsolete for me soon) and then upload them back to the apps like Apple Contacts. It works!

I just downloaded and tried to use it. I selected all contacts (65 total) from a group of contactss and moved them to the right as requested. Then I see hondreds of “phone” and other categories and contacts from other grous that I didn’t want to export. Never could get the program to work. I am trashing it and requesting a return of my money. The program is unusable.

It crashed since I opened it. I will request the refund. Review: November 2018.
  • Does what I needed and easy to use.

I wanted to take the contacts from my Address book and look at them in a list view in Numbers. In the past I would use Bento, but since FileMaker no longer sells Bento, I was looking for another solution. this app for Address Book is simple to use and does exactly what I was looking for! I was able to open the Exported (CSV) in Numbers. I wish it would remember what format I Exported last, and keep that as the default. Don’t think there is a way to do that in this version.
