2. Healthcare professionals often estimate a patients Insulin Sensitivity Factor based on the patients total daily dose and type of insulin used.
3. The Insulin Sensitivity Factor is the amount by which a patients blood glucose lowers when given one unit of insulin.
4. Instead, it uses the Insulin Sensitivity Factor and all the parameters you entered and converts them into a table that you can use as a sliding scale.
5. The app only works if you know the Insulin Sensitivity Factor of your patient.
6. The Sliding Scale app is designed for doctors and nurses who are taking care of patients with diabetes.
