The bad reviews noting bad stats are accurate. Japanese flags have something helping them.... I changed my flag from American to Japanese and went from a struggling 25,000 pointer to a 100,000 player over night. Dice do impossible rolls for right player.... 30 moves ahead? Suddenly a “great” player gets (literally) 2 double 6’s and a double 5 and you lose. Hammering a high score opponent? System shuts down and you not only lose but you lose points. I’ve lost more (dozens and dozens) games by “great” opponent getting 3+ doubles in last quadrant end game. Tonight alone I lost 2 games against high players who were behind 200+ to my 100+.... AND I had them blocked with a row of 6 doubles .... System loses contact and I lost both games and points. I have multiple wireless antenna throughout my house... it wasn’t my phone losing contact. The random number generator just isn't accurate... worse.... it does seem rigged... but that can’t be proven. Last night I was pounding a Japanese flag player then he got the only two rolls possible to change the game... a double 5 the s double 4. Suddenly I’m behind with two men out. Lots of better games out there but Heroz does have the best user interface... Is it worth it? Do you throw your phone when you are clearly being ripped off? If so don’t get this. Your choice.

This is such a good app...almost. The dice are fine (it even shows your distribution of rolls!) which is more than can be said for almost any other app I’ve ever heard of. But the rigging comes in on the disconnects. I have never had a game voided by disconnect when my position is inferior, and every single disconnect comes in a position that is not only advantageous, but is often a guaranteed win or close to. The chance of disconnect has zero correlation to the strength of my internet connection, but is quite plainly correlated instead to occur some percentage of the time when the user is about to win. I have not once won a single game by disconnect, with the exception of games that have clearly been abandoned by a human opponent. All of this on top of the flat-out stingy 6 games/day allowance really hurts an app with an otherwise nice interface and good software.

I’ve been a subscriber for about two years. The fact that I can review games and see my errors and also see what moves are better is a GREAT feature. However, there are some major flaws with this app. First, there are WAAAY too many “Disconnects” in the middle of games. Also, you cannot choose the amount to bet on each game. This means that you can end up losing all of your “money” in just a few games. This means you have to purchase more with real money. Also, there have been ZERO UPDATES in over 2 years. There supposedly is an update today, but I’ve been trying for hours to play or update and keep getting either a NETWORK ERROR message or a DISCONNECT error. Please update and fix the app! Feb 5, 2019: Still NO COMMUNICATION from developer about an update. Still over !!2 YEARS!!! since last update! Still no update... 2++ YEARS since last update. STILL MANY DISCONNECTS every day. STILL DISCONNECTING numerous times every day. May 6, 2019: still NO update. No communication. Still disconnecting. Dec. 5, 2019: Still no update in OVER 3 YEARS. No communication.

First, they charge 10% of each player’s bet just to play the game. If you contest with players of equal skill, you will both lose in the long run. Second, when playing your six free games, about 75% of the time, you will be disconnected at least once and lose automatically. In the year I’ve been playing, I have only won once by disconnect. Third, the dice rolls are absolutely biased to insure their chosen winner succeeds. I was once well ahead bearing off until my opponent’s last two throws, double 2 and double 6 for the win when I had only three markers to go. Bad luck. The next game was a repeat with 3’s and 6’s. Then two more games, same ending, small double followed by 6’s when I had only three or four small markers ready for the win. Luckily my 6 games were up so it didn’t repeat. Most times, when you accept a double with more than 25% chance of winning, expect to see double 6,s or whatever gives your opponent the best chance to win or even back gammon. DON’T FALL FOR IT. NEVER BUY CHIPS!!!
