  • This is not the Pro Version

    By Bgconder (Pcmac user)

I purchased this version of the app thinking it was the pro version. However, this version from what I can see is missing a feature called Discovery, which does a quick survey of the area. From what I can tell that is the only feature missing. the app did help me get the Pro version. What I can say is you might pay a lot more for Discovery, which lists information of APs nearby or use an alternative program like inSSIDer. For me the Dicovery feature is worth the extra. Granted it’s a lot more then what you would pay for the app Wi-Fi Reporter. There are similar programs on the app store that can do what Discovery does but for my job I have to be able to troubleshoot wireless issues quickly. My favorite feature is the ability to map download and upload. I’ve used the app for the past year and I can say it has gone a long way. It shows that they are dedicated to their product and are always improving them. This program is perfect for IT professionals or tech enthusiasts. You will not be disappointed.
  • Good Purchase despite hefty price tag

    By Lgbainbridge (Pcmac user)

I am usually reluctant to purchase an app for much over 9.99 let alone the ~$50 price tag but I have to say it is worth it for most people. PROS: Very easy to use if you can import a diagram of your location. Great user interface for capturing and analyzing captured data. Passively scans and reports on all networks (those broadcasting SSIDs as well as those that do not broadcast SSIDs*) In order to actively scan on (or passively for hidden networks) you must be able to connect to the network. Troubleshooting category will help those less informed on networking by explaining their actual results. CONS: Price Tag, it is a bit expensive for an app. Drawing your own diagram is a bit cumbersome and not naturally intuitive for revising/resaping shapes, lines etc. Summary If you are having difficulties with your current network coverage and are thinking about upgrading to a new router, adding a repeater or AP, get this app. It will help you decide if simply repositiong the router or antannae will fix your issue OR if you need buy some new equipment to upgrade or expand your current network.
  • Excellent app / as described

    By CamNYC78 (Pcmac user)

I apologize, but I just wrote an extensive review and my finger tapped my MBP Pro’s trackpad *right over* the “cancel”, and in a split second, without a confirmation, it was all gone. I can understand that on a web text field, but on the app store, Apple? When writing a review, do yourself a favor and write it elsewhere, not here. Apparently a confirmation dialog window is too hard for Apple to implement on their app store reviews. And this app, I’ll review in more detail when I manage, unfortunately. I will however do it, since this is a great app, and some reviews here are just hard to understand. YES, you can create new surveys, it’s a clear option on the FIRST window when you start the app. Excellent app and product, have been a happy consumer for a while, and was well worth the purchase!
  • Crashed first time I used it

    By Mac-n-Scott (Pcmac user)

Launched the app. Created a blank map - 100' x 50'. Selected all the SSIDs relevant to current location. Clicked on my spot within the map to start the scan. It got about 10% into the scan and BOOM! crash log opened up. I could have bought a large Diet Coke and gotten much more value out of my purchase. I WANT A REFUND
