  • One small suggestion

    By Tms2564 (Pcmac user)

I gave this app 4 stars as opposed to 5 because there’s one small improvement that could be made to this app to make it perfect! This app functions as a personal journal for me to write my thoughts down in an to vent when necessary. The only thing is missing is that I cannot paste images or pictures onto the pages of the this app. I can use emojis but I can’t paste any of my own personal images, Memes, or use my Bitmoji at all. I attempted to see if I could use my Bitmoji and it actually locks the keyboard down and then I cannot get it back to the regular keyboard in order to type in my passcode to allow myself back into my this app. There seems to be a bug there. I’ll have to wait several days for it to reset itself and let me back in. But I enjoy this app very much and I use it several days a week. I hope the developer will read this and consider my suggestion because it would be fantastic if I could paste in anything I wanted to on my pages. Thanks!
  • A journal, not a diary, with flexibility to write what you want

    By Bessie21644 (Pcmac user)

This is a plain, generally straightforward journal, that allows a person to write about what happens , their feelings, or whatever they want. This app fits the bill. You can go back to a table of dates and add to something that you wrote, but unfortunately the addition is not dated. IAlso, if you find yourself at the index, getting elsewhere does not seem intuitive. You can see from there how to start writing, but not necessarily figure out how to find what you already wrote or the instructions. Once you figure that out (press the number next to the year) navigation is easier. However I like the ability to write freely without limitations on the number of characters you use. I like being able to reread what I have written before and add to it even if I have to add the date of the new comments myself. I like this app a lot, and would give it a 4.5 if I could
  • Great App

    By Ffreaannkk12345 (Pcmac user)

I was looking for a super simple, uncluttered note taking app for journaling. And I LOVE the simplicity of this app. Great practicality, and usability (although I’ve only had it for one day so far). My only complaint is I don’t like that there’s a “viewing mode” and “edit mode” with entry pages. Reason being is when I’m switching between apps (“Safari and “this app” app) to copy & paste text from articles/inspiring quotes, the this app app keeps reverting back to view mode. It’s kinda a nuisance because it’s an unnecessary extra step. Example, “Google Keep” app once you’re in the middle of editing your notes/adding text and you switch through different apps, it won’t default back to view mode. You can just keep on editing away :) Overall, great app. Opportunity for improvement.
  • Would give 5 stars but...

    By Writer-at-large (Pcmac user)

This is really a well-designed app in its simplicity and functionality. But, it’s been over two years since the last update and there are just a couple of features it’s missing that the designer should consider adding if it won’t take away from how it feels now: As others have noted, you can’t insert photos. Second, you can only print, email, etc. one note at a time. It would be really great if you could send an entire year, or the whole this app to a pdf or Word file. Or even just a text file. Third, it is not available on my iPad mini, which is my preferred writing tool. I would love to be able to switch between my phone and my iPad, maybe by saving my files to Dropbox as I do with my Scrivener files. All that said, it is a beautifully designed this app app. I haven’t found anything else that looks and feels as natural as this one. As a writer I would use this a whole lot more if the above were available. But for now I will continue journaling on Scrivener, though it is a little more cumbersome creating new notes and formatting them consistently.
