  • Good Game Terrible controls

By All names are taken so....... (Pcmac user)

I’m one of the few people that love FFV more than FFVII. With that said I’ve played through FFV a few times already. The issue with this version is the weird controls. They’re very out of place, which makes it difficult to play and keep track of characters. And like wise difficult to view the game as you are playing it. The other issue is the composition of the character sprites. Poor Batz looks like he is always angry and pumping up his chest like a bad pop-eye episode or Astro boy. It is almost bird like and not very aesthetically please. Something I never expected from the elite artisans of Square Enix. Even I can do a better job of creating sprites on RPG maker. The things that need to be fixed to make this game more palatable and aesthetically please is a more logical approach towards a control update and better sprites. Otherwise the game is adventurous and fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone getting into the app Fantasy.
  • I wouldn’t ask for too many changes

    By Matt Turpin (Pcmac user)

I like FFV. It probably has the most play time of all the iOS ports. I don’t mind the controls. I love the job system. I have two complaints: The new character sprites look nothing like the Amano portraits. There are no shadows under the character sprites, so the characters look ungrounded. Even simple black ovals at the feet would do.
  • Game Excellent, Implementation Weak

    By Buckeye Mac (Pcmac user)

The game is excellent, like the rest of the console the app Fantasy games. However, this version has several annoyances that affect game play, such as prompting to sign into Game Center every time it starts or between app switches (I don't want to sign in, and it has no matchmaking anyway.) When I did sign in, I got bombarded with "achievements" which I could frankly have done without. It doesn't help with story immersion. The positioning of the buttons in battle is also not very comfortable.
  • Great game but music could be better

    By Taios87 (Pcmac user)

i love this game, i loved it since childhood, however, the music for it could've been better, like the GBA version. ^^; don't get me wrong, i like the current version of music of the game... but it could give you the option of switching between SNES ver. and GBA. for music.
