Fun animations - but you’ll need friends

Genie creates amazing, fun animations of your personal avatar (“Genie”) in wacky situations - perfect for Instagram, Snapchat, and group texts. Two downsides: 1. You can’t do anything with your avatar until it’s approved by them. Took like 3 weeks in my case. 2. Therefore, it’s hard to get your posse on this trend quickly. Clearly, the app is way more fun if you know people, because you can add their this app to your animations. The app provides a few celebs to use until you build your friend group, but it seems like the apps “exclusivity” is working against it going viral among us common folk. Still, super fun animations!

Makes reading the news fun!!

this app is genius!! What a fun way to connect with friends, share news stories, and learn about what’s going on in the world. Stories are personalized to your interests so you’re guaranteed reading stuff that you care about. Although there isn’t a gender neutral option yet, characters can be personalized to a very impressive level, from 20+ face shapes to all sorts of clothing. Animations are funny, entertaining, and help people relate to each other more. The one thing I have an issue with is their approval process, which seems to be based on how much social media influence you have; if they made it more readily available to include everyone, I’m sure they’d find even greater success! Great team, great concept, great execution. I can’t wait to see how this app develops!

I love the IDEA, but...

I love the idea of this app and I think it’s really cool! But I don’t understand the need for getting “approved”. For one, it makes it harder for every day people to get/use the app. For two, it requires giving personal information such as your phone number to even get into the app and create an avatar, which some people (including myself) are not very interested in giving out to just anyone. It asks for your phone number before you can even see that lay out of the avatar maker, which means I can’t even see if it’s worth giving my contact information. Overall I LOVE the idea of this app and I think it’s really cool how you guys are creating these whole new “emoji” type things but you may want to consider changing and adding things to make it easier to use your app. I think if you made this app easy access to everyone it would really sky rocket! Thanks for reading if you made it all the way through!

Nice idea, terrible execution

This app is really buggy. I noticed several bugs in the Character creation process such as trying on a hat flattened the hair even after taking the hat back off, and rolling over the dress section of the shirt wheel takes your pants off and then you have to go back to the pants screen and find your pants again. Finally got done making my character and they asked me to enter a phone number to validate. Typed in my phone number and nothing happened. The last two digits were clipped off the screen so I thought I typed it in wrong but even after verifying my phone number was entered correctly, I was unable to continue. There was no buttons or any way to go forward or even to go back. I closed the app and deleted it. Please fix your bugs.
