What is Mockup?

Mockup is an app for Mac OS X and iOS that allows you to preview your designs, layouts, or any arbitrary images in layers from your Mac computer on any number of connected iOS devices at once. The app transfers all data to your devices in lossless and pixel-perfect quality. You can control your layout and layers' position, rotation, opacity, retina mode, and more. You can also control all connected devices and modify their Statusbar, Keyboard presence, or their either Portrait or Landscape orientation.

Software Features and Description

1. * All files you drop to your layout are being monitored for changes, so for example if you're still working on your design in Photoshop and hit Save, your design will be automatically updated and uploaded to all connected devices.

2. You will be also able to control all connected devices and modify their Statusbar, Keyboard presence or their either Portrait or Landscape orientation.

3. Both these will allow you to preview your designs, layouts or any arbitrary images in layers from your Mac computer on any number of connected iOS devices at once.

Install Mockup - Live UI prototyping app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Mockup on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Mockup"
The search will reveal the Mockup - Live UI prototyping app icon. Open, then click "Install".

- Allows for adding PSD files to documents

- Has a desktop and companion app for syncing and sharing

☹ Cons:

- Auto update feature does not work

- Retina option requires manual updating of XML file

- PSD files added to documents need to be opened in Photoshop from the document's package

- Companion app has syncing issues and does not respond to updates

- Mock can only be controlled from desktop and not on phone

- Phone connections cannot be saved and need to be re-inputted every time

- Issues with syncing JPGs

- Only shows the top layer and not multiple layers below it.

Simple, but doesn’t work outside this app

The free companion app does not appear to respond to anything I am sharing / syncing. I have an iPad 4 retina that meets all the specs… it is not responding to any of the syncing when running (led alone any updates), though I can see the device show up in the devices list.
Definite flaws

1. You can only control the mock from the desktop (you can't move the image around also on phone). 2. You can't save Phone connections (you have to re-input the data every time you log in) 3. Has issues with syncing jpgs 4. Only shows the top layer (if you have multiple layers below it doesn't show up) 5. Needs other overlays (ie. time and date scrolling, browser overlays, etc)
Amazing, but buggy

Great idea, but: 1. Auto update does not work 2. Retina option does not work unless you manually update the xml file saved in each Designer preview file. The menu in the app does nothing at all 3. When you add a psd file to a document it copies it to the document's package. You have to 'show package contents' in the finder and then open the psd there in photoshop in order to get it to pick up on file changes. It then shows a progress bar when you save from photoshop. But you have to toggle the device off and then on again to see it on the ipad. If these bugs were fixed this would be a 5 star app.
