Install Transit Buddy - CTA Bus/Train Tracker app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using Transit Buddy on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Transit Buddy"
- The search will reveal the Transit Buddy - CTA Bus/Train Tracker app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once Transit Buddy is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Transit Buddy.
- Now enjoy Transit Buddy on PC.

Beautiful but...

This app has a great UI; the sound, visuals, and user experience all bring together a good experience. What this app lacks though is a route planner. It is great for someone who knows exactly where they're going all the time, but for though of us travel around, this app is much less useful than the Embark app.

Freezes & crashes

It used to be ok but now it freezes and crashes every time I try to look up a bus or train that's not on my favorites list, or when I check upcoming arrival times. I had to start using google maps to check bus times--which was incredibly inconvenient and inaccurate. Even when the app was still working I found bus times to be within a minute or 2 of the actual arrival time. Close enough to catch the bus most of the time, but it did cause me to be late for work several times too.
I contacted tech support about the freezing/crashing issues & never heard back. I've deleted this app as there are plenty of others to choose from!

Best and most convenient cta app

I've test driven many cta apps over the years and this one is by far the best for a simple reason - once you set your favorites you can see all the arrival times on one screen. And if you're chasing buses and trains all the time you know how painful it is when the search takes too many taps. I tap the app icon and boom, there's my top bus and train stops and their respective times all in one glance.

love this ui for its simplicity and clean lines....just having some trouble with the cta 87 westbound bus setting as a favorite it keeps reverting back to eastbound when viewing favorites....get that corrected and I would gladly give this five stars -- even the color shading is easy on the eyes, and it simply does what it is supposed to do - work!
PLEASE UPDATE FOR CURRENT iOS - really love this app 🤗
