Good game but.... occasionally freezes phone

I've been looking around for a game like this for a while, but this game does the same thing that my other the app apps do, which is occasionally freeze up the phone for a good several minutes before I can get control of it again. The screen just goes dark, almost completely OPEC and none of the buttons work. I thought this was made to run on this platform, why is it freezing?
