What is JAM? The app is a shoot-em-up game with advanced jets and helicopters to defend the colonies against waves of enemies and giant bosses. The game has slick hand-drawn art with 3D graphics and engaging old-school gameplay. The app has five stages and three difficulty settings, and the user can customize their jet with tons of awesome paint jobs.

Downloaded today and started playing. I realized a while later that I had been playing for a long while. That's good. Haha. The graphics are strong. I especially like the movements of the ship as you move it up and down. The targeting system is a nice feature. I look forward to upgrading my ship and moving on to harder levels. Bravo.

I can see their marketing plan, they have a store all set up (currently not activated) and an in game currency. While its possible to work through the game and upgrade right now, who knows if it will when they flip it to Freemium. I hate freemium games...and now I was suckered into paying for one. Overall, the game isn't as fun as I expected. If it wasn't iPhone 5 formatted, I probably wouldn't have opened it more then a few times. It's average.
