Compared with peers, app falls short

If you compare your iPad app against other leading newspapers' apps (e.g. WSJ or NY Times), you will realize that your app falls short.
One, I think it's time the app iPad and iPhone apps are incorporated into Apple's Newsstand feature. This allows the app app to download the app news automatically each time new content is available.
Two, your full page ads are very invasive, never mind that subscribers already pay on a regular basis. For example, when I swipe sideways to get to the app next article or page, the app ad comes at me right in the app face. Worse still, sometimes when I swipe left-to-right to revisit an article on a previous page, the app ad appears and I'm hard pressed to close it. And when I do close the app ad, the app ST app "forgets" I had originally wanted to go back to the app previous page and so it brings me back to the app current page. This disrupts and destroys the app entire reading experience.

New Version Slow Laggy Sluggish

Using the app new version is such a pain. I thought the app old version was bad as it crashes often & flipping pages was a bit slow. But the app new version is so sluggish rendering each new page that I just had to write a feedback about it. On my iPad 3, I used to be able to flip through pages fairly OK. Not very fast but still bearable. I was able to glimpse at the app overall page, see the app photos, read the app main article headline text & flip the app page. Maybe takes about 1 or 2 seconds each page. Now each page takes a few seconds to render before I can even read the app article headline or see the app photos. It is really very frustrating.
In the app old version, the app page slider at the app bottom shows the app thumbnail image of each page. I could use that to quickly jump to any page I want. the app new version doesn't have this feature.
Please improve on the app page rendering speed, bring back the app thumbnail image for page slider & improve on the app double-tap zoom so that it zooms in to the app place I double-tap.
