Right Game, Right Price.

After learning about this game, I was quick to buy it. I can assure you that this game is a good buy. Note, this game is a very relaxed yet sometimes intense game. In some cases, the player can be a little frusterated if they forget what they are supposed to do. The music is perfect, I reccomend buying the soundtrack so you are familiar with the certain jams. A very interesting plot, and it's like no other game I've played before. The price of the game is in the ball-park of what I would rate it. For a nice peaceful game like this, the price is just about right. An interesting part of the game that I found was very intriguing was the "backstory". I won't give anything away, but in one of the soundtracks, there is a phone number said in a demonic voice. If you call that number, you may get a veirety of different strange messages. Really interesting, in my opinion. Lots of mystery is shrouded around this game. Overall, very good. Worth the money.

I was a little hesitant to buy the game after reading some of the more negative reviews, but I bought it anyway and I was not disappointed! Critics of the game say that it is too short and there isn't a lot of action, this is a pretty true statement but it did not bother me. The storyline is sweet but simple, there is not a lot of "action" per se, but if you enjoy going on quests and solving interesting puzzles with little direction this is the game for you! I really think the graphics are beautiful, I loved the pixelated style, and the soundtrack sets the tone perfectly for every environment. It is really more of an experience than anything, and that's something I can truly appreciate.

An iconic heroic journey, delightful environments, and amusing characters and narration make this game fun. I liked the evocative score and the game's ability to create tension. The puzzles were confusing at first but got easier as I understood the game a little more. The boss fights were challenging but not impossible and were a good spectacle, overall. Lots to enjoy here. No five star rating due to controls that probably would have been a lot more intuitive on an iPad instead of a laptop touch pad. Entering combat was something I seemed to do a lot without wanting to do so. On the iPad this would have meant deliberately rotating the device. On a Mac laptop it was done with a stray finger click and I wondered what was up with that. I really hope they create another - I would like to see the Scythian return.

It is what it says it is: a game with an emphasis on audiovisual style. Lots of great memorable video gaming moments await those who buy and play this game. I'm so much into the music, that I'll probably drop the additional money for all of the tunes as well. Like someone else said, it's kind of expensive, but after you play it, you'll forget how much it cost because you just won't care. Oh, and the story? Well, I won't spoil anything, but it'll keep you thinking about it well after you beat it. And like the title of this review says: do youself a favor and play this game with headphones. You'll thank me for it.
