  • Great

    By Andbciene (Pcmac user)

This is an amazing app, but I cannot download Dropbox on my computer, so I have to email it to myself on the computer, open it in a file converter app, THEN open it in this app and add the links. Which is why I am not giving this app five stars.
  • Great app

Thank you for this great app
  • Not Optimized for Keynote

    By Mrfich (Pcmac user)

This app would be much more useful if you could simply import and use a keynote file. I have to import my the app as a PDF, and essentially rebuild my the app from inside this application.
  • So fun, so easy

    By JacqHarper (Pcmac user)

I went searching (using keywords 'the app' and 'iPad') for an app into which I could dump a bunch 'o different formats in order to look nifty for upcoming interviews. The app does exactly what it says it will; read the developer's notes, and then you will not be disappointed when your expectations of a PowerPoint or PDF editor are not met. I downloaded the Lite version, so I am confined to three presentations, which may not (each?) exceed 200 slides. (I would rather stick a fork in my eye than present 200 slides, so I see this as a public service instead of a limitation.) The enclosed Tutorial was short and to the point, containing just the right amount of information to get me going. (It counts as one of the three presentations, so I have deleted it.) I am a big Acrobat fan, and would be using PDFs for my task if I could find an app which would support the links, layers, JavaScript, embedded attachments and so forth upon which I rely for lots of interactive work. (iAnnotate is great, Adobe Reader for iPad is okay, but neither of them has the oomph I'm waiting for.) That being said, I found the app Link easy to navigate and fun to work with. I created a 'master' page in Photoshop for the background elements (title, navigation images), although you could use PowerPoint or anything else which will export images. (I went with PNG.) Add the images to the the app using DropBox, your onboard Photo app, or email. (You can drag them to and fro within individual presentations in a slide-sorter kind of way.) I put a 'navigation' slide up front, from which I link to five different slides which begin the 'sections' within the the app. Installing a 'master button' on each page (on top of the static graphic already in place) provides a 'home button' function. (Unlike Acrobat, you can't change buttons on the fly.) After some experimentation, I found that .mp4 files integrate and play well within the the app. I created these in Photoshop as well, using the same background layer(s) and adding frame animations from layers. They act like all other 'slides' except they include a Play (triangle) button within the image. (Scrubber bar and volume controls appeared with no prompting. Good! I wish that I could scale them, or that they would appear in 'context only', because they overlay part of the animation. Next version?) I did a quick test of a URL link from within the app, and that worked well. There is an option to record voiceovers (in addition to volume control, above), but nothing I used contained any audio, so I can add nothing in that regard. I was not able to create links *between* different presentations, and I really wanted to. I can understand limitations of linking to a laundry list of formats, but I would hope to divide my Presentations Lite by topic, audience (or something efficient) and then provide one spot from which to navigate to them all. Next version? (Full version?) Great product, simple and sweet.
