Top Pcmac Reviews

  • Ruined by excessive ads

By Not a good gamer (Pcmac user)

This is an updated review. See my original one below. This was a great app until the developer must have sold out to Google. Now there are unending ads that play over the music - completely ruining any listening experience. Just about every 5 minutes another ad plays on top of the music. And these are not short ads - some are a minute long. The app is total trash. Shame on you developer! Shame on you!!! I’d give this zero stars if I could. Better to just download individual PBS station apps. For many years I used to listen to some of the best publicly funded this app programming from all across the country. But I had to log onto each website to stream the audio. This app lets me have access to many of those very same channels like WCPE, WDAV, WKSU, WGUC, KAZU, and others. I’m in seventh heaven listening to the app music 24-7 thanks to this app.
  • Almost everything I’m looking for

Even though I also use Pandora, I find that it is limited in the scope of the app music I desire. This is so excellent. There are very few hiccups in the broadcasts. If I do not want to hear a speaker (I usually don’t), it is so effortless to switch stations. In short, I love the app! Cannot think of one negative! Five stars are certainly deserved!
  • It’s free

    By mkr1993 (Pcmac user)

This app is the station adjustment dial on your morning radio commute. I’m a mid-20s millennial, however, I very much like tuning into the broadcast each day. More so than channeling into one of my monthly music subscription archives. Those feel drab, and their “radio” channels to find new music are always playing the music I already have. That’s silly. It’s isolating listening to one’s own limited collection, over and over the same music. It’s like never getting fresh air. But tuning into a broadcast fixes that. And this app does it for free.
  • Great selection, crummy user experience

    By NihilistPanda (Pcmac user)

I’d love to subscribe but there’s not a working option to do so on the app. I would happily pay to not have ads, but would prefer to do it through the app and not from a website. Also, even if I did subscribe on the website, there’s not a way to sign into a paid account through the app that I can see or figure out. That said, I do really love the selection of pieces. Just let me give you $$$ though so I don’t have to listen to a bunch of Calm Radio ads... but let me do it through the app.
