★ ★ ★ Night Eyes Overview

What is Night Eyes? Night Eyes is a camera app that provides residual light amplification in real-time for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch without additional hardware. It illuminates the image in real-time and allows you to switch between light amplification mode and exposure mode for better quality. The app also features a luminance histogram, 10x digital live zoom, color filters, and supports front and back cameras.

Software Features and Description

1. The iPhone, iPad and iPod touch have no infrared amplifier, as a result no pictures can be taken in total darkness; a minimal level of light is still required, which can be ascertained by the camera's sensors.

2. Due to complex mathematical algorithms Night Eyes provides residual light amplification in real-time for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch without additional hardware.

3. You can also switch the light amplification mode to exposure mode for better quality.

4. In addition the camera must be held stable for exposure time.

5. A good camera and a powerful processor are required, to get the maximum picture quality.

6. With an exposure time of up to one second you will be able to view the smallest details.

7. The luminance histogram shows you the brightness level in real-time.

8. The preview will also be delayed in exposure mode.

9. Zoom in inconspicuously using the 10x digital Live Zoom - and shoot your photos.

10. Please note that this app does not provide true night vision functionality.

11. The image is illuminated in real-time (without delay).

  • Useful when it's dark, but saw something strange...

    By Nikifox8300 (Pcmac user)

I live in a old home that has been changed up several times. When there was a power outage during the the app time. When my mom said to get the emergency generator on, I had to go downstairs so I used this app to help me see down stairs. When I finally found it I started Hearing scratching in the next room. The generator started warming up and soon before the lights turns on I saw something walking near the door way to the room I was in. I hid in a corner with a bunch of boxes and hid for about 5 minutes while hiding I used the app to look around with out letting it see me by making a small hole with shifting the boxes around discreetly. I only saw a pair of feet near the box fortress. Almost screaming the generator started turning on and it fled outside! I carefully started getting up and I noticed the door the thing ran out and most likely how it got in... let's just say that I will from now on check all doors every the app and lock them all!!! If I'd not download this app things might have ended up differently. Thank you... I hope that if you read this it was entertaining but every last word typed out is true, please! If you have multiple doors in your home, make sure to lock all your doors when you don't needed unlocked. Please be safe and he'd my warning! It might just save your life... hope you all have a nice day.
  • Does exactly what it SAYS it does

No, it doesn't somehow magically install an infrared detector into your device. But it does amplify available light. Apparently, it utilizes capabilities already present in your camera, but that have been limited through software to prevent overexposure or damage, I guess. The first simple test I did when I got it was to look into a closet with the light off, and with my eyes, items in the closet were just dark shapes or silhouettes, through my regular camera, basically just dark screen. Then, looking through this app, dark shapes became recognizable items with visible details, although monochrome and grainy. Where before, you couldn't see anything, with this you would be able to tell that there is SOMETHING there; before, where you could see that there was something there, with this, you would be able to tell what it was. this is one of those apps that you might not really use all that often, but when you really need it, it just might save your bacon, or ease your mind in those "Something made a noise in the basement, and the light bulb is burned out" or "There's some kind of critter just beyond the light on the back patio" scenarios.
  • Great astronomy assistant in Big City

I use it to help me find stars and galaxies I can’t see do to light pollution as I’m in a huge light hole. I can open the shutters and see the starss like if I where in the Middle of the pacific. I’ve also used it for years to look for my keys etc around the house at the app without waking the Family up with a flashlight. Next best thing to buying really expensive the app vision goggles. I still don’t know why Apple will not put IR sensors on the phone. They use to innovate but thanks to this app I don’t have to wait for someone to upload Steve Jobs’s consciousness to the internet. Unless he is already plugged in and creating an AI army to start World War 3 and send cyborgs back in time to hunt women and children down and kill them. Yep Steve Jobs conscious AI self went back in time and secretly created Terminator. Well at least T1 and T2. All the rest are to stupid for an AI to be the brain of. Why am I still typing I forgot what I’m even talking about. I’ll be Back! Or am I already here...?
  • Closest thing to an NVG you can get.

It takes a bit of practice to see what this app offered. But after I experimented with it in a half moon the app I found it to be an outstanding app. It has a variable aperture and three different exposure times. Plus different color filters that you can experiment with. Once you practice with it and get familiar with the different levels of light intensification you wonder how you got along without it. I use it instead of the regular iPhone camera app at the app as it is so much better. Outstanding and kudos to the developer!
