Intrusive when it doesn’t need to be

I'm a little leery of granting some unknown company access to my location 24/7 (allowing it only “While Using the App” permission defeats the whole purpose of the app). While there is the option to program in additional locations, I cannot program in a particular city of interest and save it, unless I also allow the app to access my current location (Always or While Using the App), which I don't want to do.
Comparable to the FEMA app except HyperLocal alerts

This app is like the FEMA app except that it’s hyperlocal alerts. Meaning you only get an alert if the earned area includes your gps location. I wish more were using it.
Need an option to set specific location

I don’t want to have to grant the app 24/7 access to my location. I live in a small town I should be able to set my location and you alert me. Uninstalling.

I just downloaded this recently and have found it Helpful and reliable when I have used it. I've used it mostly for weather alerts so far, but I like the idea that I would be instantly alerted if I was in an area of danger. I have it on my phone, after seeing a news spot on it and hearing about it from my local PD. I don't consider myself a very "high tech" person but the settings have been easy to use and adjust, and I have been happy that I downloaded it so far. I avoided getting caught driving in a big storm the other day because of the app warning!
