Needs work

This app needs some work. As someone who took Chinese in college, I know for a fact that without tone marks and wrong pronunciation you can be saying something completely different. You think you’re saying one thing (something innocent) but you could be saying something completely different (maybe something inappropriate or offensive). NONE of the pinyin has tone marks. They are also missing lessons. They only have lessons 1, 2, 7, 12, and 21. And none of these lesson le are teaching you grammar or sentence structure, it’s just vocabulary. Other than that the use of pictures is wisely used but overall needs major work. Especially if I can get Duolingo for FREE and it’s correct with pinyin and grammar/sentence structure.

Too early to tell... but the matching photos are clear

Voice often is not clear when going through the test. This app might work for quick visual reviews, although the audio's volume is too low even with the iPhone's volume all the way up.
Developer asks for a review after 5 minutes of usage, so it's too early to tell. The pictures are good quality (the photo of a 15-year-old mobile phone made me laugh, though, and I then noticed how dated these photos of "technology really are ... haha)

I like the ease of use the app has, but the content itself needs work. The pinyin lack tones, which would make it difficult and confusing for the user to expand their Chinese vocabulary and understanding of the language. I like that it's free, because I think more westerners should study Chinese, and that the information should be easy to access. For being free and developing, not horrible. But, like I said, it needs work.

I very much like this app and I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to the app Chinese a kind of fun way. This app has really helped me on my language skills (Chinese) and it has easy but not to easy or hard lessons and I like that:) I really like this app. If you are serious about learning a language download this app! 😀
