  • Buggy Application

    By LUVNMUSIC (Pcmac user)

Often quits unexpectedly. Akward process for adding plants and plant information. Data base contains multiple structural flaws. I should have listened to other reviewers and not wasted my money on this one.
  • Terrible searching

    By Elimarg (Pcmac user)

I am sorry I bought this app. I was looking for ideas to plant two woodland gardens, and the screenshot made it seem likely this would help. It did not. You cannot search by plant uses, even though that is a term displayed in each plant's listing. So I went to a nursery web site in my area (well 300 miles away but in my zone) and got some plant info. Then I tried to look them up on this app. It was very difficult. I put in the Latin name of a plant and got hundreds of hits in alphabetical order. I tried the common name- same thing. For example- Acer Japonica should give a specific result: Japanese Maple. Instead every kind of Maple and every kind of plant with "Japonica" in its scientific name showed up. Despite all these headaches when I did find what I was looking for, I added the plants to the Favorites List. Was it printable or exportable to take with me to the nursery? No again! I used Mac Grab to take a screen shot of the plants I was interested in and took it with me. My money would have been better spent on bags of mulch.
  • Coorection of my previous remarks.

    By Phidelys (Pcmac user)

It does not crash. In fact it is taking quite a lot of time to launch the first time. Then after everything is going well and smooth. Having moved recently from Minnessota, USA, to Nairobi, Kenya, I would like to be able to add some species founded here and to have access to specialized web links to recognize others that I am not able know to find. Otherwise I have enjoyed all the improvements realized since the first version of the app, which I have now in all versions (destop, iPad and iPhone).
  • ***Fixed*** Currently Unusable

    By ApexNCRon (Pcmac user)

Now that the bugs that I experienced are fixed I am very pleased with the app, though I wish there was more detail and photos of some varieties but I am sure this will come with time. I have not seen an app at this price point that can compete with this app. Worthwhile purchase With version 1.2, I attempted to preload the database but I stopped the download at 32 Gig, that's right Gigabytes. Without the database download I found it faster to Google the results rather than waiting for the app to download the data. I have not tried at the 1.3 version but no need to as long as I am connected.
