This app used work good. Now it starts and shuts off during your trip.

I just used the this app for the first time today. While I like the promise it holds I do have some suggestions. 1. I noticed that deviation from the recommended route does not trigger a route re-calculation, all prompts stop and only resume if one rejoins the original route. This can lead to serious problem in a large urban setting. Easy to get lost in heavy fast moving traffic. 2. Once the trip starts, it will be nice to have map zoom in to street level view, say 1-5 mile range. That said, I like that it track and logs real final destination not just the requested endpoint. I learned something from that today. I love the fuel consumption tracking. I still need to verify its accuracy. I have yet to use the app long enough to get a statistically reliable data. I like the full screen mode. I wish though that the pull down list window is a banner showing only the up coming action in easy to read font. All in all a very very creative approach to journey management. Update: I've decided to use this app only what what it is really good at, tracking miles and estimating cost. It will be nice to be able to calibrate the consumption by entering the volume of gas at full time. The app will then be able to calculate a moving average of gas consumption base on distance driven since the last fill. The accuracy of course depends on the diligence of the user updating the fill ups.

Tried getting used to the way this GPS app works for about 2 months now and I've got to say I've had enough. Yesterday I took a two hour drive for a one day vacation and what better time than then to use this app. Needless to say I ended up using the factory installed map app on the iPhone. The voices in this app are so terrible and robotic I couldn't understand what was being said. Secondly, if I was to pass under a bridge while going down the interstate the app would always think I got off at it and would start "re-routing" my current route. Very frustrating... Thirdly, the voice guided navigator wouldn't tell me to turn where I should until AFTER I turned... I even adjusted the time for it to tell me to a higher setting and this did nothing to remedy the issue. Aside from other glitches and issues I've had with this app over the past two months I've now had my fill and am deleting it from my phone. Luckily I only wasted .99 cents. If you want a good GPS app I do not recommend this one, but to each his own.
