Particles for Pc

Are you a developer looking for a good particle designer that will allow you to save emitters in Cocos2D .plist format? Then DON'T buy this app. Here is my experience: I bought the app (at version 1.3), and the app is not even debugged enough to allow you to save your emitter file to a directory of your choice; even worse, it does not correctly name your file, even though it opens a dialogue for that. In other words: It's main purpose doesn't function correctly. But that's not the worst: When designing this app, you need to fine-tune your end result, which means you need to be able to type in certain values (like gravity, or time), in numbers, to ensure they are really zero, or minimum, or right in the middle of the range. Well, "this app" doesn't let you. It only has sliders. So it allows you to fiddle and play a lot, but at the end of the day, when you need to get work done, it is pretty much useless: to do the actual work you will have to hand-edit your plist file (which it will not save properly). In other words : Don't. Buy. This. App. It needs fixing, or be taken from the app store - or be made free. For the first time buying an app on the App store, I feel ripped off. I can't get my money back, so here I am: Avoid my mistake.

I love using this tool to create new effects. The interface is easy to use, and is better than some alternative particle apps. Exporting this app was a breeze and I had new effects ready to go in Cocos2d in Xcode. Thanks!

This is one of those inexpensive little zen apps that's just great for playing around with when you have a couple of minutes to kill, or if you're in a particularly boring meeting. Playing with the sliders to create custom particle effects is particularly entertaining. Looks great in full-screen mode, and is silky smooth even on the anemic Intel graphics on the 2011 MacBook Air.

Please don't waste your dollar, and don't make the same mistake I did. It's fun for a little while, but then u run out of stuff to do. Should be a free app, not one that costs money. Also, every time I play with it now, some crazy problem comes up and I have to restart my computer and my computer won't do anything until I do. Once it happened to me twice in one minute. THis is the only app that makes my computer do this. DONT BUY IT.
