1. Well, now it does! Disk LED is a very simple unobtrusive application that lives in your status bar and displays just that: an indicator of your disk activity.

2. Disk LED shows activity for any internal or external storage device in a separate or summarized way (only for the devices you wish to monitor).

3. You can choose between many LED models to suit your status bar style, and overlay an indicator to know which of them are removable or optical drives.

5. Just hover with your mouse over the leds and you can see a tooltip to know which is which.

Install Disk LED app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Disk LED on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Disk LED"
The search will reveal the Disk LED app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Disk LED is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Disk LED.
Now enjoy Disk LED on PC.

Just right, no more, and no less...

This application has a simple purpose. It displays the state of the the app subsystem in real-time (with a ittle pulse stretching). That in and of itself is not an earthshaking big deal. What is refreshing and of note, is that during my ownership of this program, it was easy to install, it takes care of itself with no ongoing maintenance required, and I never have to worry about it. To function correctly, and to not cause any trouble... That is pretty much what there is to say about this application, from the user side. But like all apps, it took quite a lot of learning to write this application. And I don't think the author gets enough glory for the effort to write a trouble-free application for Mac OS X. I recommend this application.
Useful but with flaws

The update is annoying. When I click the update option, the process could not continue because the software could not be stopped for the moment. So the update could not continue. But at the same time, the software could not work as well. I had to force quit the software, and set to avoid opening the software when logging in in the system properties, and restart the computer. Anyway, I think this is a fairly well established software. It compensates the lack of hard drive indicator on the Macs. Wish it could go well in future.

Didn't realize I already left a review... after another year of use, I'm still loving it. It is simple and clean (the B&W icons fit perfectly with the other status menu items). Thank you, it works great. It is simple and fits right into the Mac look and feel (the simple black and white one), but also has more colors for those who what a more colorful world that me. Has everything I need, maybe to much. Hopefully future versions will not try to add to much and make it into bloatware. Please keep it simple.

It's the same functionality as the the app activity indicator in Windows: it's a "dummy light" that lets you know that the the app is doing something. It will not give you any details pertaining to overall loading or throughput which it fine with me. It does it's job and performs as advertised with no issues.
