  • Way too complicated-missed the point

    By Eswarthybhhjikkjnggddeebju (Pcmac user)

This is packed with information but most of it isn’t helpful and there is so much that the app often crashes and has to be restarted. For example: why is there a “Days Inn” filter on the map? When I do a search, none of the activities such as hiking or camping come up on the map but somehow there are Days Inn hotels everywhere. I’m sure it is user error and there is some setting that I need to change, but it should not be that complicated. After multiple attempts, I deleted. Message to the developer: All we want is complete listing of parks with descriptions/activities and an interactive map showing how to get there. The videos, advertisements, pocket ranger, etc. is all not necessary and only serves to clutter and confuse.
  • An extra step

    By disgruntled, again (Pcmac user)

The app is basically a way to interface the exact information NC already provides about its state parks. In essence, it's an unnecessary step, and the app is much less user-friendly and irregular in providing access to that information, particularly the activities, warnings, maps - well, all of it, actually. Worse still, the extra step also clutters your search with advertisements. For some reason, those always work, even when the rest of the app doesn't. Bookmark the state park website in your browser - it's really all you need.

Really like this app. It is handy when you need to find out info about a park you are interested in visiting or want to visit.
  • Confusing User Interface

    By SoulDance30 (Pcmac user)

For me, the point of downloading an app. is to quickly access info I need in a way that is simplified and formatted to fit my mobile device. This app. is overly complicated. Here are some examples: - The opening screen has 18 buttons and icons to choose from. 18! They are not labeled, you just have to click them to find out what they do. - The opening screen has 2 fast moving screens. One of the screens is behind 8 of the icons mentioned above. - You cannot print or download park maps. So there is simply TOO MUCH GOING ON. The screen is always moving, and I would not advise using if you have epilepsy, sensory processing problems, or any other brain disorder. Or a brain. It is just unusable for me.
