Top Pcmac Reviews

  • Exactly what I needed! Perfect companion reference for anyone studying and practicing music.

By J. Awesome 9457310 (Pcmac user)

I gave this app a try because I thought even with the terrible reviews, if it is close to what the developer describes it to be, it's worth the 5 bucks. It's completely prefect! I have been playing music my entire life and have yet to master one instrument because I just can't get the music theory. Regular tutorial based lesson/apps are too boring for me to pay attention to long enough! I just want to play and write music. This app is the perfect reference to super quickly look at the sounds I'm working with to build the chords, learn the scales and notes I can put together with them and hopefully, FINALLY actually learn key signatures. I hope Wolffram|Alpha people try it and give it good reviews for it's value of what it's actually built to do.
  • Thoughts from a musician and a music teacher...

    By hollyfigueroa (Pcmac user)

Stick with mathematics, the app. No one does it better. Since math and music are inextricably linked, I wrongly assumed that the app's music theory app would be as thoughtfully organized as their other sub apps (calculus, algebra, etc). Not even close. I deleted this memory sucker pretty quickly, since I already have access to Wikipedia. So...please make this app free, or better yet, in an update of this app, make it music centric instead of, as another reviewer so aptly called it, a "smaller dictionary".
  • Weak

    By duplicate_id (Pcmac user)

This is a good example of what happens when software engineers overreach. (I am one; I understand the failing.) This is a weird mix of dictionary-ish articles and obscure stuff that reminds me of the feeling of reading the CIA Factbook. A buffet of random facts that does little to educate. Perhaps hiring a music teacher who can product manage a redesign would help.
  • Useless

    By JmarioCV (Pcmac user)

Do not waste your money. Cumbersome interface with, in my opinion, little useful content. It needs to talk to the mother ship to do something as simple as the playing a single note. The "dictionary" implementation is simply ludicrous. Not worthy of the the app name (which I have great respect for). review written Jan 13, 2014
