Echofon used to be the best...

The UI is vastly superior to the alternatives (which are hideous, bloated messes), and the fact it can (at least for some people) sync with the iOS app is critical for me. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated in ages, giving the impression that development is abandoned. I've submitted a support ticket regarding the account sign-in bug (you can't sign in to more than one account due to a program error, even though "multiple accounts" are advertised), and I sincerely hope they're working on an update that will support all the latest Twitter changes (especially URLs and names not counting towards the 140 character limit, and longer format DMs).
Sync does not work

Sync for this app has not worked in a very long time reading the same tweet twice is a norm. That’s my biggest issue with this app since I also have it for my iPhone and iPad. Hopefully this feature is fixed for all platforms. Update 08/20/15: Does not support the new quote RT or new DM format.
Finally caved to buy this.

I had the Sparkle updater version for the longest time and I kept promising "I'm going to buy this someday, I'm going to buy this" and I've finally kind of had it with accidentally clicking on the ads. You win, naan. I love you guys. this app is my most used app on both Mac and iOS. I love how far its gone and what it has become. Please keep it up. Someone mentioned in a previous version review that there isn't a "reply all" function. I checked my Sparkle version, MAS Lite, and this one. It's a contextual menu option. Right click and hit "reply all". Update! 1.4.9: I like what you did with the tab bar, but I don't understand the "international hash tags support". I thought it was finally being able to choose which region I can see trending topics in, like the iOS this app. Still, I love the new tab bar design.
Not worth the $10

this app continues to endear itself with in-timeline notifications of retweets, new followers and favorites. However, no Retina Display support and a lack of notification center support make this an app to avoid buying if you have a Retina Macbook Pro and/or Mountain Lion. There are better alternatives on the market at the moment. Tweeting a currently playing iTunes song and tweeting a link to an open page in Safari also does not work. The UI is also tired and has not been updated to correlate with the new twitter system, in which there is the Timeline, Connect and Discover tabs, but many apps have stuck to the original design metaphors, so make of this what you will. Ultimately, what breaks this deal for me is the lack of Retina display support. For a paid app - and $10 is quite a lot to ask for a Twitter app that brings no considerable unique features to the table - this is very disappointing.
