  • Nor great...

Just started using this and I've already found two things to be pretty annoying. The first is that this app does not allow family sharing. BOOOOO!!! The description says that you can sync with other family members so everyone can see the updated lists but they do not tell you that EACH FAMILY MEMBER HAS TO PURCHASE THE APP SEPARATELY and then all log in using the same account number/password. I would not have bothered purchasing this app if I had realized family sharing was not allowed. The second thing was also mentioned by some other reviewers. I wish the lists actually worked in the reverse order. In other words, you have a core list of things that you typically buy from each store and you check those items off (or somehow highlights) when you need them. Once purchased you would then deselect the items and your core list for that store would still be there every time and you wouldn't have to go in and select the items each time. There are certain things that I only buy at Costco or Walmart or Target and it would be much more helpful to have a separate list for each store. I looked at other the app list apps and not one of them works this way, which I find surprising as it seems there are others out there who want a list that works this way. But seriously... No family sharing??? Come on guys!!!
  • Pretty Good

I have used this app for years - first in my iPod touch, then on my iPhone 5, now on my iPhone 7. For the most part, it does what I need it for. I have set up different lists for different stores (grocery, Sam's Club, etc). There are a couple of features that would make it more user friendly such as being able to search for a certain item rather than having to scroll through the entire list (mine are long since I've been using this for a while). Also, recently it is constantly syncing. I can be in the middle of adding a new item and it will start syncing and the screen goes black for several seconds and you just have to wait. It used to sync very quickly and the screen didn't go black and it wasn't constantly. I was trying to make a list to go grocery the app the other day and it took forever because I had to keep waiting for it to sync. It is probably syncing 4 or 5 times in a minute. Last but not least, when I got my new iPhone 7 and added this the app list app to it, I got a warning that unless the developers updated this app, it would not work on the next IOS update. Guess I better start looking for a new the app app.....
  • Love it, love it! Just two annoyances...

    By Marcell55 (Pcmac user)

This app is a lifesaver. I add items to it throughout the week as I think of items or see things running low. I love that the list is always with me, as I never quite know when I'm going to run to the store. My husband has it on his phone as well, so if he's going the app instead, he already has the list. I organized the categories in the order of the main store I shop in, which makes things super easy when the app. The two issues I have. When setting a category or quantity for an item, you have to tap elsewhere in the screen after changing it to get it to save. My biggest annoyance, however is the syncing thing. The whole screen goes black when syncing, and you have no idea when it's going to happen. Often I'm in the store the app and checking off items so I have to sit and wait for the screen to come back. Slightly annoying.
  • Synchs too often, price comparison has potentional

    By D857a (Pcmac user)

I've had this app for years now. The latest update seems to make it sync once a minute, and you have to wait for it to finish to use it again. I love the price option, it has a lot of potential for price comparison. I wish it was possible to save prices for the same item at different stores, without creating a new listing. I have a Costco list, whole foods list, Safeway list... And tilapia at each is a different price and quantity at each. My dilemma every time, is "How much is this product at whole foods? Should I wait to buy it at Costco?" I also would love a "default list", I can copy items from. When I go to Costco, I write down the things I can think of, then get there, and realize I forgot to check if I need out of paper towels... I would like to have default list I can go through as I check what I need at home, then copy it over to a new the app list. I don't want to delete stuff off the default list, as I clear it.
