v-Chess for Pc

Is workable, has games library, good support,easily finds openings. Gets five stars when it fits the iPad!

Would like my $2 back. Jobs said during the latest WWDC-2010 that Apple rejects apps submitted by developers if the apps do not deliver what they promise to and this is clearly not the case for this app. It is FULL of bugs: games skip to the very end for no reason and you are constantly given error messages stating that you cannot make completely valid moves. Very bad app.

Not a great app. You first pick from a very small pool of famous GM's, then from a city the match took place in. There is no search function, only this strange method of narrowing. Choosing a game does not show ECO codes, win/lose/draw, or other pertinent info. Just white player, black player, and city. The games themselves tend to be buggy, prompting errors like 'King cannot move to d1' when the king is on the g file, or 'game over' on a freshly loaded game. On top of all of this, the board is horrendous and the pieces do an obnoxiously distracting little bounce every time they move. It looks like NES chess, if one ever existed. The bounce just serves to irritate, and there's no option to shut it off. I couldn't find a review for this app, and now I know why. Two stars, though, for the limited functionality of at least a few interesting games. ---------------------------------------- (After update) Kudos to the developers, you can keep my $2. I'm impressed with the changes made, though we're still a ways from a top flight database, great strides have been made -- thanks for that. Current bugs/improvements would include: -- touching a piece enlarges it and moves it off of it's square, almost as if being pulled up in a 3D sort of manner. -- Load times after selecting a player are a bit long, I wondered the first few times if the program had frozen... It was just loading. -- A search function, by name, city, or ECO would be hugely beneficial. Pulling up, for example, all games of ECO C52 that are available will help with looking into that particular opening. -- The player pool is still a bit light. I realize it's not easy to compile, but people like Morphy, Steintz, and so on shouldn't be omitted. Perhaps each update will come with new players/matches? Overall I'm pleased to see improvement, thanks for listening!

Developer had reflected a lot of the feedback given. Still there is a lot of room for improvement. Please keep the updates rolling. Can we get info on the games such as analyses? Even as a link if not embedded. Such will be highly appreciated.
