  • WAY TO MUCH...FUN! (And Productive)

    By alientek (Pcmac user)

This past weekend I played a set for a couple of hours using the app player. It was a friends last minute birthday party, so when I got there he said he was sorry he wasn't able to get a the app setup together since he wanted to hear me play. He asked if I brought any CDs or an iPod, to which I replied that I brought the the app setup. I had my iPad and bag with my accessories and asked him to connect me to his stereo. A few people made some wisecracks about not wanting to listen to someone play the app Hero. A few songs in and it was officially a party. I have been spinning professionally since 1987 and although I would not use it for a paying gig (yet) I have started using it to listen & mix new tracks to get familiar with them. No more having to be at the decks to do so. Now I can sit just about anywhere anytime and enjoy the music. A couple wrinkles aside it is almost flawless. BPM detection is still very hit & miss with non 4/4 tracks. And the "Constant Power" x-fader setting is anything but. But the new Loop FX panel is the ABSOLUTE DOPENESS!
  • Serious App for DJing, Not a Toy

    By funkadelick (Pcmac user)

If you do any research at all on iPad/iPhone apps for serious DJing, the app Player will come up again and again and let me tell you, it's earned it's reputation. In the land of push-button the app's, this app takes the craft back to it's roots where you actually have to work to get a good mix, and it ain't for the faint of heart. I've been DJing for 15 years, used every kind of software and hardware out there, and I feel like the app Player is the gear I've been waiting for! If you are considering using your iPad to the app, this is the app you need. Tons and tons of features, user friendly layout, multiple input/output options (including wireless syncing). On top of all that, the guys at iMect give the app Player lots of love and attention and are constantly updating the app, so you can feel confident in the middle of playing live that the app won't crash. One thing that thoroughly impressed me was the day I got the app (bought the upgraded version right out of the gate), I had a minor issue with track playback. Sent them an email with my concerns, and promptly got a reply sorting the issue out (operator error, nothing to do with the app). I can't recommend this app enough. Totally worth it.
  • Beginner DJs, this can and SHOULD be your first setup.

By Steve the animal (Pcmac user)

I started to the app about a year ago and this was the app that got me started. the app Player is not a toy. the app player is a stable and safe app that will not drop out, crash or lag during your performance. Search for your tracks easily through your iTunes library and with keyword search functionality you can always find your favorite tracks. The interface is easy to use, but that doesn't mean you can't do cool the app tricks! Fader tricks, cue point drumming, loop oscillation and pitch faded moves, filters, reverb, rolls and phasers, the app player is comparable to pioneer effect units and mixers for the cost of eating out for lunch. To top it all off, even as your setup as a the app grows or changes, there is always your the app Player app in your pocket as the PERFECT backup for COUNTLESS situations. Spill a drink on that $2000 NEXUS CDJ? Plug your phone into deck B and have all the power and more ON YOUR PHONE. I could literally go on all day but I'll sum it up like this. If you want to the app buy the app Player.
  • Just like daft punk

    By Kparonable (Pcmac user)

This app is great, especially for a novice who is trying to learn. The overall look of the app is very sleek and simple. All of the controls were organized and placed accordingly to make it the look and feel of the app seemless. The app was difficult to understand at first, but I was able to get the hang of it after a couple of tries. I really liked how this app allows you to remix your own music from your iphone library. This was great because it gave me a selection of music that I already enjoy. I also like that I can just hook my phone up to my speakers and use the app at the same time, so it's as if I'm actually djing.
