Game Features and Description

1. SCORING: If the high bidder fails to make the bid (his team's total meld plus trick points is less than the bid), the bid amount is subtracted from the team score.

2. The game consists of a repeating sequence of bidding (for the right to name the trump suit and optionally to pass cards), melding, and trick-taking.

3. Players score points by melding various card combinations and by taking tricks.

4. Pinochle (queen of spades and jack of diamonds) is 4 points, or 30 points for double pinochle (two of each).

5. MELDING: Players get points by showing various card combinations.

6. Pinochle is a card game played with a 48- or 80-card deck of 9s, 10s, jacks, queens, kings and aces.

7. High bidder names the trump suit for the hand and optionally exchanges cards with her partner.

8. BIDDING: Each player bids the number of points she thinks she can make with her hand.

9. TRICKS: Play begins with the high bidder, and proceeds around the table to the left, 4 cards per trick.

10. Pinochle Gold has more tabletops and more card back options than Pinochle Plus and is updated frequently with user-suggested features and AI improvements.

11. A run (or straight) in the trump suit is worth 15 points.

A few suggestions. THIS IS PINOCHLE

1. When all the aces of trump are played and you hold one of the 10’s, and it is your play, the 10 of trump should be played when you are the opponent. 2. If your partner call trump, you should pass a double marriage if you are holding them. A double run scores more than holding the double marriage. 3. If you have the bid and you are passing back to your partner, you should pass the the app back, instead of holding on to a queen just to score a points for a marriage when it could give your partner double the app. This is when spades or diamonds are not trump.

I have played several other the app apps and this is by far the best one out there. So why the three stars? This is so frustrating that I have almost deleted the app. In a hand I have had an extremely good hand, but no meld. My partner passes, so I have no option but to pass. We lay down our meld and he has double aces. This happened with double aces, kings, etc. etc. Something similar also happens, my partner passes before I can bid. I have a lot of meld, double the app plus aces, and other stuff - but no marriage. The others take the bid. At the end our hands are shown. He has twelve cards in a suit (run). I hit ‘NEW GAME’ and start over. A note - I know this is an iPad so the use of he and him are used because that’s the way I think when I’m playing.

I have played the app for more years than I care to remember. This game is terrible. Either you make 40-50 points or you go set. Not much n between. Also goes in streaks for winning. One team will win several hands and games. Then the other team will do the same. No challenge when on a hot streak and "can't buy" meld when you are losing. AGGRAVATING!
I WANT A PC VERSION PLEASE!

I am 71 years of age and have been playing this game sends the age of 12, I love what you have been able to do in an app. You keep making it better and I thank yo for your efforts now you must go to the next level; PC VERSION 1🤓. Thank you for all the fun.
