  • Like an open window near the shore

    By Aztai (Pcmac user)

The app has many different types of waves, varying in intensity and location (beach, rocks, etc.). Many of them sound similar enough that if you're not a real sound connoisseur, you'd probably be satisfied with the lite version. But if your moods are sufficiently nuanced that you want just the right waves at just the right moment, then this app is for you. My only complaint, which is true for all the the app apps, is that the selection wheel disappears as soon as you make your choice, not giving you enough time to examine other options. You have to touch it to get it back. So if you're "surfing" through the sounds looking for one you like at the moment, then you need constantly to touch the screen over and over. Otherwise, I like this app and all their others, too.
  • I Was Hoping for Better Audio on (Pro) Heavy Waves

    By SJ_Art (Pcmac user)

I like the concept, but there are periodic annoying short clicks in one of the heavy waves cuts that I've tried, which are possibly poorly matched splice points. Another heavy waves cut has periodic brief sound gaps, which render it unusable for sleeping. As an insomniac I need heavy ocean wave cuts that contain no discernible splices. I've already played around with recording and editing a short test water flowing loop of my own, so I know how painstaking it can be to match the splices. From that standpoint I give the developer good marks for getting quite a bit of it right, but I must have good splicing quality on any cuts that I will use for sleeping. Despite my quibbles though, the price for the Pro version is fine. Hopefully a subsequent version will replace the poorly spliced tracks.
  • It's ok... But sound quality isn't great.

    By Nycibbyryder (Pcmac user)

I understand I'm listening to this on a phone and whatever but the problem is as a kid my parents had owned a house on a beach in fire island and we'd go out there every weekend in the summer. So I remember going to sleep to the REAL sounds of the ocean very clearly. I really wish I had that again but unfortunately it became too expensive and we had to sell it. Now this sleep maker app really is too muffled to discern any waves past the medium set, which at medium those sound like the waves at the bay on fire island, not real waves at all. I'm just saying if you're going to charge people for this app you could've used better recording equipment so I could go to sleep to the sound of the ocean again. I miss it soooooo much. The heavy set just sounds like a bunch of wind...
  • Great App/Great Customer Service

    By jnusm (Pcmac user)

I use this every single night to help cut outside noise and fall asleep. The sounds are great and sound authentic. I recently e-mailed them with an issue with the app not remembering my sound choice between sessions, and they not only responded, but issued an update that fixed the problem. Great company, great app - well worth the money. Glad to support them, and I highly recommend.
