  • ITS A TRAP!!!

DISCLAIMER: i don’t normally do these things, and i’m not paid by any company to leave this review. I'm posting this on my own volition as i feel a major wrong has been done. i canceled my subscription(all purchases done through iTunes) in december of last year, in which case i haven’t used this service since then nor made any sort of purchase through them for their services, and today i get a notification for a charge of nearly $400 which threw my bank account into the red. i haven’t even used the free version of this service since canceling my subscription, so there is absolutely NO reason why there should be any further transactions drafted from my account. i can also attest to the fact that i am certainly not so desperate as to shell out $400 for something so trivial as browsing profiles on the internet. if i’m gonna pay that much for socialization, i’ll put a hooker on retainer. at least then i’d know for a fact that i’m getting something out of the deal in return. i’ve already filed a claim with my bank about this errant charge to my account. i had planned to just let my dissatisfaction lie in peace with this company...no blood, no foul...until now. this is an egregious act, in my opinion, and they will not be getting any further business from me. there are too many fake profiles on there(as i’m sure there are just as much infestation on other sites as well), so i’d still advise not subscribing with them. save your money. take a road trip somewhere.

Been a member on and off for a few years. The app used to be great. It really was! But now they have switched it to where you can not delete emails and some other notifications you receive from the app. They just sit there piling up. Why on earth would your do that? Many of the emails/contacts you get are fake profiles (scammers) that are painfully/obviously fake and yet their staff don’t catch them when the profiles are approved. Once I identify a fake profile and notify them, they will discontinue their profile. However, the scammers emails sit in your email box and can not be deleted in the app even after they have been deemed to be a fake profile. They should be allowed to be deleted from the app. Take a look at the ratings you are now receiving Match. Things need to change. Also smoking choices need to be moved to one of the top things listed so you do not have to click on every single persons page to see if they are a smoker! 2.?? Average for an app with as many people as you serve? Not doing well for minimum $20-25 a month and sometime quite a bit more depending on the package you buy. Used to love you guys. Also. Most dating apps sites will allow some interaction with each other for non paying members who want to test out the app before buying. Match has the worst options for non paying members. You can hardly do or see anything anyone sends you. Hope things get better soon!

They’re advertising says they have better matches - insert Kelly Kapoor shaking her head. People are all the same no matter which app you use. This is just another app that makes you pay for simple features. The missed connections feature is just creepy. I don’t need strangers knowing which streets I’m on/near. You can turn this feature off, but that takes me to their blocking feature- they basically don’t have one. You can block someone, but all it does is stop their messages from getting to you. They can still see your profile and you’re stuck still seeing theirs. If you delete a profile again they can still see yours. Now let’s get to the main problem- the problem the app is created to fix: matching. I don’t even bother going through the daily matches they provide. You’re never matched with someone with similar preferences. For example: A match could prefer an athletic person and my profile specifically states my body is not. Maybe if you pay more you get more, but after wasting $60 I’ll pass. OkCupid matches you better with others that are actually within the distance you set- and that’s their free version. Overall these apps just prove dating is bs and all they’re doing is capitalizing on it. Those who have actually found someone- congrats but I bet they haven’t delete the app.
  • Auto-Renewal Crap

I decided to try match because I’ve tried several different free dating appa that have never worked so I thought maybe if I paid for this one this time it’ll be different. I decided to pay for the 1 month payment which was about $20 and as soon as I paid for it I regretted it cause it’s a very annoying app. As soon as you like someone it prompts you to send a very interest intrusive pre-automated message to them which is annoying. Whenever you have get in a chat with someone you literally get emailed whenever they send a message to you even if you have the chat open and are real time talking to them. I decided to wait out a month since I paid for it but nothing happened so I deleted the app a week before my month ended but now I received an email saying I paid for a whole other month?! They sneak the auto renewal payment into the terms of conditons so even tho I paid for a month it renews every month for the one month payment is more expensive than just got a valued bundle deal and theres no refund because thats their policy so now this crappy app just charged me for an extra month I won’t be using this app. So don’t try the app, its not worth it stick to free apps they’re all the same crap and won’t hit you with a renewal fee at the end of your already one time payment.

Trying it for 1 month. So far I haven’t gotten hardly any replies. Mind you, I’m on here for the right reasons. Too soon to tell since this is day 3. I see a lot of the same people and there isn’t a lot of new users. Too soon to tell though.

My profile was hacked within the first day. Have had such a hard time getting the issue resolved and getting a response from customer service. And way too expensive, upfront charge. Would be better if it was monthly.

For the second time in the last six months match has charge my debit card and missed my checking account up also. When my subscription clearly states canceled no. I thought there’s no way they would do it twice after I went through everything last time. NOPE!!!! And since I’m not the only one that’s straight up stealing

Don’t use unless you’re seriously good looking or wealthy.

Have you wondered why you get so few messages when using this app? It's because it's a scam. Only paying members can message you, which isn't shocking, but non-paying members can't even SEE that you have tried to communicate with them! Anything you send, yes anything, is wasted unless they are a paying member, BUT MOST ARE NOT. The scam gets worse because even though virtually all profiles are of non-paying members, you have no way to know. It looks like you have hundreds of members to potentially meet, but it's very likely you actually have almost NONE and Match is just taking your money. To add insult to injury, Match uses an automatic renewal system so if you forget to cancel they will charge you again. This app and this company will rip you off. Yes, you ARE the only paying member...sucker. Additional tip: if you insist on using Match, pay with a virtual card that can automatically prevent recurrent billing. Many banks offer this service and it can save you from paying month after month for a service you don’t use.
  • Never any system generated matches

I live in central metro San Diego. I have a radius of 30 miles (which Match warns is too close) but I’m a single mom to 3 kids and am not going to drive further than 30 miles for a date. Now there is at least 2 million people in a 30 mile radius of San Diego. I’ve had my profile up for over a month and I don’t think I’ve had any matches from the system. People have viewed my profile and reached out, but the system itself (that helps by pairing you with like minded people) hasn’t matched me to anyone. The only item I’m specific on, aside from no smoking, is the 30 mile radius. Either they need to get better at marketing in San Diego, or fix their algorithm, or this app is a waste of money.

The app constantly changes my profile from hidden to visible. Also is sending me matches around my zip code and not the area I chose that would work better for me. Let me know when I GET TO MAKE THE CHOICES FOR MY LIFe!!!!!

You can’t even see who is interested in you unless you pay. Then you pay and find out it’s nasty women. Then the hassle of making sure it’s not auto renewed. The thing is is that you may pay because you see someone you like, but if they haven’t paid you’ll never contact them so it’s just a waste of time and money. Chat should be the only thing they make you pay for. You should see who sent you messages and who is active and paid subscription. I’d say just go with the free ones
