If you want to install and use the Weather: The Weather Channel app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Weather: The Weather Channel in the search bar and press Search. Click on Weather: The Weather Channel application icon. A window of Weather: The Weather Channel on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use this app for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

Download on Andriod, Iphone
Free On iTunes
Download Android

  • Great weather app Tells me what I need to Know

    By scoobydo99
Anyone can find little faults with anything, but I believe small things aren’t a big issue. Maybe it’s just the way I am, but if something works well overall, I won’t hold it against a great review. I generally take negative reviews with a grain of salt anyway unless it’s major! When I decide to leave a review for something I will judge fairly. Sure if it’s something that needs to be very accurate then I will judge more accordingly... Yes things have changed with the look of the UI this that... It’s different, but I have no problem with the change. I have noticed the Radar map, and other weather info is on point with other weather apps or forecasts. Weather can always change. Sometimes things will be a little off especially with radar map. If the Radar shows rain in my location at a given time it’s generally correct give or take 15 minutes, but it’s not a big deal in the Grand Scheme of things. I don’t necessarily expect exact timing, because as I said weather can have acute changes. Nothings perfect, but overall I have nothing majorly negative to say. I use the app with iPhone 6, and my main iPhone 7.
  • Less than 1 star is what this app deserves

    By Mewood40
I had used the app since its inception but I’m deleting it from my phone. Lately with every release there has been less weather information and more videos with horrible tv personalities trying to be amusing or pseudo-science sound bites that have little or nothing to do with the weather. I have subscribed to the ad free version each year since it became available and that helped, but I’m so throughly disgusted with the redesign that I’m done with everything to do with the Weather Channel. The app now carries little useful information, (for years you haven’t been able to view anything resembling a map with weather fronts which I find useful as I suffer from sinus headaches) but in prior releases one could easily find the humidity (vital in parts of the country), temperature, and hourly forecast. Now with work you can find the temperature and hourly forecast. I use a weather app to find out the weather for the day. To know if I need a rain coat or if I’m going to have to wear light or heavy cloths. Or take a jacket. And if I’m packing to travel (which I do often) is like to easily be able to see other cities. Now I have to work for it. And only get vague hints as to the weather. So, bye bye Weather Channel. I’ll rely on AccuWeather (my husband swears by it) or even WeatherBug for my daily and planning needs and I’ll use Radar Scope for tornadoes or dangerous weather.
  • Ads

    By ladybutg
I don’t much care for the ads being before the videos every single time. In fact this world has become advertising conscious. Shows on TV that used to be 40 minutes long are now 30 minutes long with two or three inserts of ads that are 10 to 15 minutes long each time. Therefore, now we are subjected to the torture of ads, & if that isn’t enough, we have the shortened show, which is only six weeks long, if we are lucky, when they used to be 3 months long before they changed for the next season. That wasn’t enough, now you have ads on your phone, at the bottom of everything & any kind of video you want to watch, it’s at the beginning of it. It has become insane. They’re on billboards, magazines, newspapers, everywhere you look & that add to that you have to buy the product but you’re already paying a high price for the TV, the Internet & the phone yet still subjected to all these ads with the saying of “we need them to pay for the service.” I’m paying for the service so why are they paying for it. It’s just gotten ridiculous all over the place. 99% of the stuff that’s advertised I don’t want anyway.
  • Downgrade of an update

    By Jadedgazelle
Update: I emailed a support request to TWC about the upgrade not recognizing my ad-free purchase. It’s been more than 72 hours and no reply. Infuriating! I wish I knew the best alternative weather app to recommend. It used to be Weather Underground, but TWC has recently “upgraded” that app as well. Original: The latest version is in essence a major downgrade. For one thing, it caused the app to forget that I’ve already paid to remove ads. When I try to restore purchases, it pops up that there is nothing to restore. When I try to buy it again just to see if it will allow me to, iTunes warns that I have already purchased it and if I do so again, it will only extend the current subscription. The ads are so intrusive and resource heavy now that they cause the app to frequently stall or freeze, and sometimes even crash. Maybe this is also partly due to the other resource heavy content they put on the app like the ridiculous amount of video content. The Weather Channel organization has irritated me for many years with its blatant weather news sensationalism, but I continued to use the app because it used to be fairly decent and reliable. Not so much with the new app overhaul that came out a couple of weeks ago. And now that they have taken over and overhauled the Weather Underground apps as well, these too are much less than what they once were.

  • Good app with annoying icon alert flaw

Good app for weather and rain warning. Would be nice if it cleared the badge icon on its own very annoying to open app and see nothing
  • Old vs new version

    By amazed65
I liked the older version. The new version is not as user friendly.
  • Used to be great!

    By Eric D2
Not sure what happened to this app! Functionality used to be seamless, accurate forecast, now the app doesn’t even load at all. Blank screen on the app, and is significantly slower overall when trying to access via internet on the computer as well.
  • It stopped working

    By annyankeefan
The app stopped working this morning. There is an object spinning in the middle of the screen on my iPhone. It just keeps spinning and the app never opens. I even restarted my phone and no luck. Same thing happened tonight. Very disappointing.
  • Changes are Terrible...

    By Katiewwhite
Your new changes are terrible! Why did you have to ruin a good thing? I hate going to the app now!
  • New version

    By Kstate07
I absolutely do not like the new version of the weather channel app. I can’t find a single detail I’m looking for. The layout makes no sense. I really wish I could just go back to the older version. So for now I will be looking for another app to get my weather.
  • Not dependable at this time

    By KZ for Wine
I used to love the Weather Channel App and really depended on it. The past month or so it has been very misleading. For example, it has been saying snow would be coming, then it continues to change which days to expect it. The hourly would show “Now” only cloudy and it is snowing outside. It would show several hours of low precipitation and only clouds, but it didn’t quit snowing. I was thinking I didn’t need to leave work early since there was a window before it would start to snow again at 7pm yet it never stopped snowing. Perhaps radar equipment in my area is malfunctioning???? 87301 area.
  • Over complicating a simple thing

    By DwelchGlen
The App has become too burdensome for me just trying to get basic weather information. Seems like some app designers who got caught up in “look what I can do” rather than “what do people value” I am going to try some other options.
  • Can’t even get the app to open...

    By jarmcs
Ruined a perfectly good app. It’s malware now.
  • Not working

My app won’t work! What’s the deal? Very frustrating.
