  • Used for years

    By Crepes442 (Pcmac user)

This helped me this app years ago and I’ve also bought it for French. I decided to brush up and downloaded italian yesterday. For some reason the progress all says 0 percent despite me having gone thru several sections numerous times. It would be nice if the progress bars worked so I can see what I need to cover
  • Not Enough Words

    By KKW NYC (Pcmac user)

This could be a very useful app. The way it works is terrific. And it’s the best flash card app I’ve found. But there’s a few problems which greatly limit it’s usefulness to me. Unfortunately, the dictionary (words available to study) is quite limited. I’m using manual flash cards more than this app because it seems like 2/3 of the Italian words I try to add are not available. It’s very frustrating. Also it seems that you cannot toggle between searching for words in Italian or English. I’ve tried changing the options, but I haven’t been able to do this. So if you’re looking for Italian words that begin with Q, to make a study set, it brings up the words in alphabetical order of English words and includes all English words beginning with Q. The Q Italian words are there also, but it’s a chore to find them. And again, way too many Italian words are missing. If they could bring in a larger dictionary and fix the sort issues, I would be very happy!!! Also, I had an issue w/ logging in on my devices and ended up logging in first on my phone - even though I had created several study sets on my iPad. Now, if I go to log in on the iPad, it tells me that I’ll lose my study sets on the iPad and it will revert to my iPhone settings (which has nothing created). So the whole cloud/backup thing is useless to me unless I want to lose all of my study sets on the iPad and start over. What a pain! I suppose I could try signing out on the phone, but I’m just to worried about losing the study sets on the iPad to mess around w/ it.
  • Wonderfully useful

    By zappabeefheartfan (Pcmac user)

I am delighted with this app. I use it constantly--many times a day. Currently, I am using the spaced repetition. I am learning Italian using Rostetta Stone. However, I went through the vocabulary list and checked off a large set of words I had either learned or was hoping to the app in the near future. When I have a few minutes, I whip out my iphone and this used the spaced repetition to quiz myself. If one fails to correctly translate, it remembers and asks the work again a bit later in the list. One can chose words to study idiosyncratically or from set categories--which I really like. The translation function is useful. Its nothing more than you can do on google (and in fact I think it is google translator) but its handy in this app. In general, I am very satisfied and I think the app is well-designed. I am not sure how much I will use it once I reach a greater proficiency but thats fine--it has been very useful to me for several months now and thats great
  • Love the spaced repetition feature

    By rswpub (Pcmac user)

After trying a number of vocabulary/flash-card apps, I chose this one, mostly on the strength of its "spaced repetition" feature and a great overall user interface. The spaced repetition feature remembers the words you are having trouble with and continues to repeat them more often until they are finally committed to memory. It keeps things fresh by presenting words randomly but continues to bring back the words you are having the most trouble with. I haven't tried previous versions of this app, but this version has a ton of words (including over 200 verbs) and as a beginner they are all new words to me and my wife. We love this program and find ourselves using it daily.
