The graphics and game play are very well done! Game is a little arcade like in some areas though. Some things that need tweaking for WW2 realists out there. - Enemy warships can launch torpedoes down to your depth to damage or sink your submarine. - Your crewman die all the time in ones and twos. During a normal depth charge attack, you may have one or two guys on your crew die. By the end of each patrol, your returning to port with three or four dead crewman. The compartments didn’t flood.....did they bang their heads? I’ve had 25 dead crewman over the period of six patrols. - can we get an external cam view to be able and see our own boat? Other than a few things like that.....the game is one of the best sub sims on the platform.

This is an outstanding improvement over the original version. It is complex but enjoyable to play. The support is excellent and while they continue to make it better there are so many options you can adjust you’re self…..truly outstanding.

Addictive!!! What a great game. I loved playing Silent Service on a PC many years ago and this game nailed it. It has just the right combination of strategy vs arcade mix. The settings allow for the game to be as hard or easy as you want. Well done. I love that you pay upfront and don’t have to deal with annoying Mickey Mouse charges as you play along.

Okay, I’m a submarine warfare history nut so bear with me. #1. Japanese torpedoes being fired at submerged submarines is silly. If you need to make the game harder, find something semi-historical at least. The Japanese had neither the technology nor the expertise to hit a submerged sub with a torpedo. #2. On the harder levels there are far too many Japanese escorts - swarms of depth charge carrying patrol boats feels unrealistic. #3. Sinking a Yamato class battleship with one torpedo even if heavily damaged is just not realistic. Make us earn that kill. #4. Why are there no limits on bow and stern torpedoes? Moving a torpedo from bow to stern or vice versa is a major undertaking. #5. Escorts would not sail alongside at the speed of a damaged ship. They would be moving around, zigging and patrolling. A little AI here would make the game better.
