The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I have been using Hinge and it really works as advertised which is rare in a digital dating app. Most apps hide prices here or there but Hinge is different. Another area that Hinge is different is with banning their users. I tried to use the sign in with Facebook option, provided by Hinge, so I can get photos from Facebook much more conveniently. To my surprise instead of being logged in and receiving my photos I was banned. I did nothing wrong and tried to reach out to their non-existent customer service. And from my research this is a known issue. Don’t get me wrong the app is great, but when you get banned for doing nothing wrong the app becomes a paperweight. Because I literally can’t use it now and the customer service is just not there to help correct a mistake I have to give it 1 star.

Spent about a week on this app back in April 2019 before going on my first date. The interactions felt much more organic than on other dating apps and it was much easier to start a meaningful conversation and find common ground with matches. People are much more focused on really getting to know each other here rather than looking for a short-term fling. I can happily report that the person I went on my first date from Hinge on is now my boyfriend of nearly one year. I never expected it to work out the way it did but I’m extremely grateful for this app and it leading me to the person of my dreams.
Horrible customer service

I literally had the app for 3 days. I didn’t even have time to possibly do anything to go against their guidelines and they banned me. I contacted customer service and like every other response, they told me that they have the power to cancel, suspend, or block my use without notice. They don’t tell you the reason for why you’re banned, so people could literally lie about why they blocked you and you’ll get kicked out. I can’t control your decisions or anything, but if I were you I wouldn’t even waste your time. Be safe you guys :)
Nothing but old profiles and no hope

In the few MONTHS I’ve used the app I have gotten 0 likes. I thought maybe the first month would not get me anything. I wasn’t expecting 0 likes in the time I’ve used it. I thoughtfully made my profile and everything. I made sure that my likes and wrote messages thoughtfully. Seeing as it’s a free app I dunno what I was expecting. Please if it’s an old profile delete it. I agree with a lot of the reviews. If you identify as a male, like I do, stay away.
