  • Insultingly, a JRPG

    By Roxyuss Chimera (Pcmac user)

Ok, so it might just be me, but when I download a video game I would like to play a video game, instead I played a two hour long tutorial that practically played itself, and had me pressing the skip button faster than it could give them to me, I swear my phone screen went dark upwards of seven times for how long it went between me having to touch my screen. As far as JRPGs go I’ve played Final fantasy, Pokemon, Dragonquest, and Persona, they all hold a fairly special place in my heart, this feels like an insult to all of those for daring to call itself a JRPG, it is another mobile gotcha game that plays itself and doesn’t challenge you, within the first five minutes I had gear that in a traditional rpg would have taken me hours to get, instead it was handed to me making nothing a problem. Strategy didn’t matter because I one-shot almost everything. Piece of advice, maybe just make a JRPG... you know like the rest of the dragonquest games, instead of a gotcha pon with a the app haphazardly taped onto it.
  • It’s ok ,but

    By Radicalrick12 (Pcmac user)

Game is alright I suppose. Basic rpg elements like gear and stats. However it’s a mobile gotcha game, and like others have said basic features are locked behind a subscription. The part that blew my mind tho was there are iap locked behind other iap!!!! So you have to pay money just to get other options to pay money lol. Seriously. Stick the almost any other the app quest games this game might interest some but after a few days I’m bored out of my mind, it’s just the same old mobile game stuff , you need gems to open the random gear chest in order to progress, then you need to upgrade everything with materials that force you to pay real money with and it’s just a slow slog of a grind to do anything. You will be bottlenecked with inventory space, stamina system that makes you wait, and a fake strategy system ( you will die unless you pay for better stuff. )
  • Fun game but shady drawing rate

    By WhatARegret (Pcmac user)

Game is fun overall but a certain drawing rate for equipment maybe rigged. When I started out, drawing equipments such as the app or Metal seem to have decent and fair rate until Erdrick equipment (currently most powerful set); the stated rate for Erdrick equipment is misleading; description stated that Erdrick equipment has .5% chance on the guaranteed slot (10th) while lower chances for other 5 stars pieces; I did 5 consecutive 10 draws (50 total draws) on Erdrick banner and only 5 stars popped up on 5 guaranteed slots and NONE them were Erdrick but junky 5 stars. My point here is that this type of setup is very shady tactic in gacha games; they would make it easy for players to get 2nd rate or near top rare equip (such as the app and Metal) and lower but when it comes to the top rate equipment (such as Erdrick), the drawing rate is so horrible that players would have to spend tons of money in order to get them. It’s fine if they want to do it that way but at the least, have the decency to disclose the real drawing rate; otherwise, it’s rigged. If I had known this, I would not have spent money to either support or trying to get equipment that I want; it seems that after spending money, draw rate is worse than when I hadn’t; spending money to get frustration is really not a healthy state for both gamers and creators.
  • Great mobile game

    By Pika boom (Pcmac user)

Wonderful design, simple yet catchy gameplay, and a cute story so far. I want to say that I actually like the subscription option as well, because although the knee-jerk reaction is to find it off putting, it is actually more fair in the long run when compared to other mobile games that would at times attempt to try to get about hundreds of dollars at a time or more by enticing those who would pay. The subscription option is an attempt at trying to spread the cost more evenly for a fair price, and thus give more content to the players and in more generous quantities. 8.99 a month for a game that is constantly updated and adding new content, with perks and items on top of that, and in a world that I like? I’m down.
