Software Features and Description

1. Results return AWG (American Wire gauge), cross sectional area of cable and total power supply current required for a solid cable.

2. Simply enter number of cameras to be powered, cable length, power supply used and current or watts per camera.

3. Results show how many PoE switches are required and total switch wattage required.

4. For multi-stranded cable enter number of strands and strand diameter.

5. Results show suitability of that cable.

6. Enter the maximum volt drop percentage in 'Settings' that the equipment would tolerate, for example 10%.

7. Note results are estimate only and temperature and other factors can change the result.

8. The PoE calculator allows the designer to add PoE, PoE+ and POE ++ camera quantities and specify PoE wattage for each category.
