Redshift Sky Pro for Pc

I, too was looking forward to upgrade of a fantastic original app. What a disappointment! What’s with “famous comets” - had full comet base before - now only in subscription version, which is not even available (l bought subscription, but with problems in release, I won’t be able to try it out before “free trial period” is over. Does not sound like a keeper...)? Does not retain all my preference settings, and often crashes when I hit search icon. I understand that first releases have some problems, but they should have held off releasing this now - not ready... Revised review: problems fixed - trial run with subscription went good. I enjoyed previous version, and looks like this is another winner. Thanks to developers for responsiveness.

This is a serious downgrade for anyone who purchased original “the app Pro” they’re apparently no longer supporting. Firstly I’m not a fan of the subscription model. Especially if it’s updates are mostly bug fixes, and not feature add-on’s as improvements. I’m more than happy to pay a higher price for a quality app. I paid $17.99 (which was a pretty hefty price for a phone app, just 2 years ago), but it was worth it for a superior app, compared to what this “update“ takes away (this app should be rebranded to just “the app Sky” if they were being truthful, compared to its predecessor). There is nothing “Pro” about this version. It requires a subscription, to get back just some of the functions of the original “the app Pro” had built in. Since I paid full price for the original “the app Pro”, (I had hoped I was being “grandfathered in”, being offered a discounted version of an “improved, updated full version”- thus carrying on the “Pro” title). The developers took great liberties in keeping “Pro” in the name, when they have taken away all the Pro feature, from what the original “the app Pro” had built in. Those features are now subscription only. Had I known this version was a downgrade from its former version, I would have never purchased it. The “Pro” in the name, made me believe that I was getting something as good, if not better, than what I already have, otherwise why update, except the former app isn’t being supported. I couldn’t even be sure what the subscription features were like (it wasn’t available yet, at the time of my purchase). So many features taken away! The night sky is now a twilight blue, even at midnight; no more black sky- this makes some of the faintest stars more difficult to see, if you want a more realistic sky (IMO). The downloadable star catalogs are now gone. The “Visible comets list” is now “Famous comets”. The telescope functions are also gone (now subscribers only). These are just some of the removed features that made the prior the app app truly “Pro”. Now I’m expected to pay yearly (almost what I paid originally a one time purchase of $17.99, for what was the nearly the perfect, full featured app), (now $14.99 yearly), just to get those features back. I cannot recommend “this app” (it really should be “the app sky”- the subscription version would be the more “pro” version). To anyone who purchased the original “the app Pro” app; If you’re expecting this to be an upgrade over the original, prepare to be disappointed. Sorry for the long rant, but I feel like you should be warned what to expect from a “Pro app”, in name only; without the pro features.
