Download and install Sky: Children of the Light on your Laptop or Desktop computer

If you want to install and use the Sky: Children of the Light app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Sky: Children of the Light in the search bar and press Search. Click on Sky: Children of the Lightapplication icon. A window of Sky: Children of the Light on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Sky: Children of the Light for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • Season pass scandal and grinding outrage

    by Bctatyolo
I hate to rate this wonderful game a 1/5 stars, but i feel if I didn’t this pressing issue would go unnoticed. I’m pretty sure i can speak for most of the season pass buyers and say that it’s extremely disappointing; the marketing is extremely misleading. As advertised in-game, the season pass states you get the masks straight away, yet i find myself paying candles and waiting in order to get the masks? From what i’m sure that sounds like false advertising. There are also concerns regarding the in game currency system and “grinding” (a term used by players that means the intense hard-work it takes just to get a couple of hearts/candles) in order to purchase cosmetics. There should be an easier, faster way for players to get/gain hearts or make cosmetic items cheaper to make the experience more fair. Another way to make it easier to gain the in-game currency is at least make light more valuable. The intense work being have to put into the game to buy cosmetics weighs down the wonderful journey that “Sky” is and the community would really hope to see this problem be fixed in a future update; to make things a lot more fair and enjoyable. Otherwise this game is amazing and is really a beautiful adventure to anyone who plays it. Stunning visuals and amazing concept and story line. 10/10 gameplay, keep it up!

First of all, I, absolutely adore this game. The graphics are stunning and adorable, the character design is amazing, everything flows in a beautiful way which makes it feel like your actually there, and the music is so calming. One thing that I do not like however, is the fact that you can play with other people. Don’t get me wrong, I love playing with my friends and I understand this is sort-of a save the world as a team game. But, when I play this game, I play it to experience as much as possible and spend a lot of time just looking around and exploring. In other words, I play it slow. Like, really, really slow. And when you add other, actual players into it, then I can’t enjoy it as much since I find myself racing after them instead. Since you can’t actually converse with the other players, which would defiantly break the harmony and is one of the things I love about this, I can’t tell them that I would like to stay behind and soak in the land, so they go ahead and then I cannot experience the game to the fullest since they’ve already completed the goal. So, my suggestion is add something in settings somewhere that switches off the ability for other people to join the game, as I know there are probably more people than me who would prefer to play it solo.
  • ☁️ hearts?

    by AmaJeweee
I just wanna day first off that this game is amazing and the amount of detail in it is insane. This game must have taken a long time and it shows. I find myself spending lots of time on it without getting bored, even after clearing it! However, there is one thing. After clearing the game or just during playing, you can buy cosmetics from the spirits. That’s great and all, except they typically cost hearts. The cheapest I’ve seen is two (I think) and the highest so far at 20. I do like the fact that you can buy hearts from the spirits, but it costs three candles for one heart. If you wanted a 20 heart mask, that’s 60 candles. Getting that many candles is kinda tough. I wish there was an easier way to get hearts other than spirits and hoping players spend three candles for you. I understand that the developer really wants to make this a friendly game, but it’s kind of inconvenient to not be able to talk to people during the harder stages without spending seven candles. Maybe after friending someone you can spend one candle in the beginning of the chain to unlock chat. Maybe even a leave a message function too? Overall however, this game is amazing and anyone who wants to play it and isn’t sure, play it right now! It’s so worth it!
  • Magnificent game, unfortunate sales strategy

    by Man who types
If your familiar with that game company you know this... that when you sit down to play, you are transported into the lush world of a thinking and feeling artist, swept up on your feet and into the air, carelessly floating about. In the end you sacrifice something and are brought back to the beginning only to start again. The first time through these games are beyond great they elicit such deep feelings and a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the artistry... but here’s the thing about them, the second time through is full of reminiscing and looking for what you missed the first time, but the third time through... the third time comes a year later when you want to show a friend. It’s not like smash bros, or call of duty, or any other fast past type game, it’s closer to a movie, and you can only watch a movie so many times before you go to something else. That game company makes great “Movies” but they don’t lend themselves well to playing through over and over again. They would have been far better charging $3-10 for the base game and going a little lighter on the in game purchases. I’m hopeful for a long run, but I fear lack of replayability might cause financial trouble to That Game Company, and that we’ll see it sooner rather than later. Play it while you can, it truly is wonderful.
  • I can play again!

    by Randomized Speech
I really enjoy this game, but the first time I got to “Eye of Eden”, I think there was a problem where I didn’t actually die when I was supposed to. I was just getting pelted with rocks, even when I had no more winged light, and my heartbeat never decreased or anything for a good while. Once I came back to it a few days later after having reloaded the game and getting some advice from older players, I retried Eye of Eden and I found the problem was fixed. I got to experience the ending, which actually made me realize the importance of losing my winged light since before I thought I lost it all for nothing when I didn’t actually activate the ending for some reason. Other than that small issue, I actually really like the game. The friendship mechanic really makes recollecting a lot more fun and I have recommended it to a couple of my out-of-game friends. However, I have noticed that a common complaint is that getting currency, especially hearts, is much more difficult and downright impossible to do as you progress. I don’t really mind too much since I haven’t encountered that problem, but if you really can only buy them once from each spirit or have a friend gift them, you’d have to have a really reliable set of friends and it’d probably still take forever to get each item.
  • Absolutely Astonishing

I preordered the game the moment I saw it here on the App Store pre-release. It was one of the first times in YEARS that I’ve been excited to play a game on the mobile platform. For any of you who have played the PlayStation game “Journey”, and enjoyed it, this game is FOR YOU. The expanding world and the amazing graphical design of this beautiful game just makes this game truly extraordinary. I love games that are simple and beautiful, yet open your mind and set your thoughts on a great plane. As a 19 year old who has been playing games for as long as I remember, I’m open to all games on all platforms and this game can’t be explained with words no matter how hard I try. It had been so long since I’d played a beautiful game, it almost brought tears to my eyes. The music, the sound, the graphics, the unknowingness of other players; it all just makes me smile and almost tear up at it. I love the game and I’m so thankful that you guys made this game. The developers and others of the team deserve all the respect because this game is beautiful to say the least. This is the first time I’ve ever felt so strongly about a game to go and write a review. So to anyone taking the time to read this, you won’t be disappointed and you’ll enjoy every second.
  • Simply Extraordinary: 5 stars!

    by Becky_Irene
A while back, I found this as an upcoming app. It looked very unique, so I decided to pre-order it. Now that it finally came out, it is probably THE best app I’ve EVER downloaded!! The graphics are out of this world, the music is soothing and tells a story, the storyline is very sentimental, and the characters are cute yet mature. I’ve made tons of friends that help me through each portal of realms, plus you can chat with others by sitting on a bench. Everyone is so kind and caring. We help one another to get to the end. One of my friends always waited for my screen to load and every time we would have to start a quest, she would hold out her hand to me and guide me through the whole thing. Light is the main concept in this game. Without it, you wouldn’t make it far. You can fly through the misty clouds, stay dry from the pouring rain, hitch a ride on a flying manta ray creature, and explore through different seasons. Even though this app tends to run down my battery a bit, it’s worth it! This is the most amazing outstanding piece of work that I’ve ever seen! All of these amazing qualities, AND IT’S FREE!! You won’t find another deal like this anytime soon. Download this now! You won’t regret it!
  • The Eye of Eden

    by 🐹GIGABYTE🐹
Dear thatgamecompany: This game is absolutely stunning. The characters are adorable, the graphics are breathtaking, the music is soothing, and the animation is great. But, what really ruined the game for me was the way loss of winged light is dealt with in The Eye of Eden. So what happened is I decided to go alone. Yes, I have no doubt that it was a stupid idea and it was even recommended before entering. Yet, all my friends were too scared to come. Anyways, I almost made it to the end. I was so convinced I was going to defeat it. But, when I was returning the light to the fallen, I suddenly got lost and couldn’t see The Eye of Eden anymore. Determined, I started returning the light as fast as I could and then check where I was. When I was in this process, those asteroids started hitting. So one by one, I kept losing light by them. Finally I went home. I had lost all my light. My wings were gone and I was stranded. Not a single portal was open. I could no longer contact anyone to help me. I had to quit the game. Therefore I have uninstalled it. You’re probably saying “Oh okay why don’t you just reinstall and start fresh?” Well, it’s too hard for me to leave some of the people I became close with. I hope you understand <3 Before I finish the review, I wanted to say it was good while it lasted. I enjoyed it, and would’ve paid for it if I had to. But, for now I have to say goodbye. - Just a user <3
  • Great Game, Poor Controls.

    by QTxPI
This game is great, everything you read is true. Its downfall is it’s touch controls. I praise ES:Blades for its digital joysticks, they are literal in their name as they are in fact a joy to use. Then there’s Sky’s controls, which are the equivalent to La Croix... The concept is the same, there’s a hint of flavor, but ultimately awful. At first, they are totally inconsistent, they have no set side of the screen and the only determining factor is where you first place your finger. You will want to go to the settings (if you can find them) and activate 2-hand mode, but the troubles don’t stop there. When soaring through clouds they will straight up just stop working, making you really work and continually tap for maneuvers which should be fluid. Then, when running, the camera stick is the equivalent of molasses and really just awful, super slow and unresponsive. You will accidentally zoom in and out and constantly stop running to maneuver the camera in the right direction and there is no way to increase the sensitivity of this at the moment. In addition, the flight mode activated by holding down on one edge of the screen is again, wildly inconsistent - leading you to frustratedly tap and hold over and over until it works. Overall I’m enjoying it, but I am far more frustrated than I should be for such a soothing game.
  • Can’t stop playing

I hadn’t learned about this title till two weeks ago. I’m a huge fan of the developer from the ps3 days. Journey was a masterpiece and I loved it so much when it was released on PS4 I bought it again. Sky however takes the formula that made Journey great and surpasses it by miles. I’m not a huge mobile phone gamer as the industry has been riddled with micro transaction which seem to be the trend lately. Although the MTs are in Sky they are purely for cosmetic items. The game is free to play and it grabbed me right away. Since TGC did such a great job I felt it was valid to purchase the season pass and contribute to a great developer. I’ve even found myself purchasing some of the micro transactions which I never do with any other game. It’s a problem, lol. I highly suggest playing SKY. It’s for young and old alike. Great replay value. My only problem is if you’d like to chat with friends while exploring you need to unlock other slots in the tree until you get to the chat slot. Seems a little greedy. A chat option with friends should just be standard like in most games and mmos. Aside from that I don’t have much else to complain about. Great work TGC.
