What is Speech Assist Switch?
Speech Assist Switch is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed for people who are speech impaired and have motor difficulties. The app is designed to be used with iOS Switch Control, which allows users to operate their iPad with a switch. The app has special features for scanning with iOS Switch Control, such as the option to adjust the scanning pattern and page up/down navigation buttons to avoid scrolling. The app is fully customizable and has features such as categories and subcategories to organize phrases, history for quick access to previously typed phrases, and the option to select photos or symbols on buttons. The app also has special features for speech, including the ability to record speech or use one of the many iOS text-to-speech voices.
