Pros:

- SPKR helps users discover new podcasts beyond their usual preferences.

- The app provides thoughtful excerpting of podcasts, allowing users to browse and try out episodes without committing to the entire broadcast.

- Users can save episodes to listen to later or listen to a full episode right away if it grabs their attention.

- The app offers a variety of podcast genres, including movie reviews, comedy, and education programs.

- SPKR is a cool replacement for radio, which has lost its relevance in today's world.

Cons:

- There are some bugs/flaws in the app, such as starting over from the beginning when switching from a podcast segment to the full episode.

- The gesture to slide up from the bottom of the app to access the full episode can sometimes invoke app closure and the home screen.

- Swiping up to select the full episode means users have to actively manage the process, rather than passively playing the podcasts.

  • Spkr is spectacular

    By macthebrown (Pcmac user)

Where has this app been my whole life? I love to find new podcasts but don’t have the time to sort through the ever-expanding field of choices. I tend to rely heavily on friend referrals to cut through the forest but that leads me down paths that aren’t too far from my own. this app expands my horizons beyond my own field in a way friends cannot. The thoughtful excerpting of the pods gives me the ability to browse and try on a podcast without committing myself to the entire broadcast. LOVE and LOVE and LOVE some more.
  • Makes my commute fun again!

I have been listening to this app. On my drive to and from work every day since it launched. It’s helped me find new podcasts and stay up to date on all the latest news that’s important to me. I love that I can save episodes to listen later, or listen to a full episode right away if it grabs my attention.
  • Nice with some flaws

    By M. Sh. (Pcmac user)

A good app for podcast discovery. There are some bugs/flaws. If I listen to a podcast segment and want the episode, it starts over from the beginning. It should continue from the point when I switch. Then, to go to the full episode, I have to slide up from the bottom of the app, but if I slide up from a bit lower, the gesture invokes app closure and the home screen. Finally, the whole idea of swiping up to select the full episode means I can’t have it play the podcasts passively , I have to actively manage the process. Would be better if the app played the whole episodes because it’s easier to skip than go to the app each time to select the full episode. And please let me switch off the this app’s introductions

I am really enjoying having the this app app. I am able to discover several podcasts that I wouldn’t normally listen to. I love the movie reviews, comedy, education programs. Today I was able to listen to the interview with Jeff Lyn of ELO on CBS Sunday Morning that I had missed. It’s a very cool replacement for radio which has lost it’s relevance in today’s world.
