What is Big Bang AR? Big Bang AR is an interactive mixed reality app that takes users on a journey through the birth and evolution of the universe. It allows users to witness the formation of the universe, stars, our solar system, and the planet we call home. Users can also learn about the microscopic building blocks that make up everything and everyone we know. The app is a collaboration between CERN and Google Arts & Culture.

Software Features and Description

1. Join Tilda Swinton and CERN scientists on an epic interactive journey through the birth and evolution of the universe - in mixed reality.

2. The app also needs access to the camera and photo gallery on your device for the AR experience to work, and to save photos directly to your device.

3. Augmented reality experiences require battery power- please make sure your device is fully charged before playing this AR experience.

4. Immerse yourself in the primordial mystery of the early universe in space and watch events unfold around you, in your own physical environment.

5. Go back in time 13.8 billion years and discover how space, time and the visible universe came to be.

6. With special thanks to Rolf Landua, Head of Global Engagement, CERN, and production partner Nexus Studios.

7. See the universe form as you stretch out your hand in front of your camera.

Install Big Bang AR app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Big Bang AR on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Big Bang AR"
The search will reveal the Big Bang AR app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Big Bang AR is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Big Bang AR.
Now enjoy Big Bang AR on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Big Bang AR,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Big Bang AR" » then Click "Install".
- Big Bang AR will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

I’ve only been through the first chapter, but I’m already certain learning cosmology will never be the same. It’s amazing something like this hasn’t been created already. And Tilda was a nice touch. It’s absolutely amazing! I think everyone with a smart phone should download this and learn about our universe. Go Google and CERN!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This is just about the coolest AR experience that I’ve seen on a handheld device. Incredible full screen detail and rich high fidelity audio give way to immersion into the incredible story of our universe. This and add to the fact that this is all for free is pretty incredible. Do yourself a favor if you have an AR capable device, download and enjoy!

This is your birthright. The knowledge of everything. The story of our universe. Every of you have been exposed to these concepts, experiencing them in VR is still breathtaking. There’s a few bugs but this is an initial release.
Needs more.

The content given in the app is 5/5. The ONLY reason this app is getting a 3/5 from me is because of the lack of content. It’s great given the 5 minutes that you get, but I was REALLY hoping for them to get into a lot more stuff. I would’ve loved for them to talk about things like black holes, neutron stars, rogue planets, different galaxies, and so much more. I understand animating stuff like that isn’t easy, but hopefully they’ll add more in the future.
