What is Astral Chronicles?

Astral Chronicles is a fantasy JRPG where the player is chosen to be the hero that can challenge fate. The game takes place in the Astral Realm, a world of magic and wonder, where the player embarks on an epic adventurous journey, exploring a vast open world and unraveling plots of intrigue in this side-scrolling adventure. The game features more than 50 unique heroes, 5 customizable classes, and thrilling battles where the player can cast their own spells by scribing runes with their fingertips. The game also features an all-star cast of Japanese voiceovers and musical composition by Noriyuki Iwadare.

✔ Pros:

- Fun gameplay with unique swipe mechanics for special moves

- Nice art style and character designs

- Quest guidance is helpful

☹ Cons:

- Too many monsters in some levels, making it difficult to see the player character

- Battles are too busy and it's hard to keep track of what's happening

- Out of battle movements are reminiscent of Another Eden and can be skipped without missing much of the story

- Allies option screen lags and the game crashes when trying to access it, making it frustrating to use.

It’s pretty but...

Really nice looking game with the chive art style in the battles, it is fun along with the fact that you have to do swipes in circles in order to do your specials. The bad part comes in that it’s just too busy, the battles have so much going on you can’t tell what’s getting hit, how much damage you’re doing, where the enemy might be if it’s a small enough sprite, etc. The out of battle movements such as going through towns or fields, remind me of Another Eden. Which is fine, but since I can simply auto route to all my class I don’t really feel like I need to get involved in the story at all. All I really know is the prologue, and a bit of the first act. The rest I have to say I’ve skipped through and just sped up the dialogue. The combat is really what kills for me, as I said before I just can’t tell what’s happening and it’s all flashing lights and explosions and then I win maybe. The only thing I can tell is when someone in my group is dying since they’re a little portraits have health bars next to them. Even the equipment that you get for your characters upgrades far too quickly and I have seen no reason to enhance it as you’re probably going to get a much better piece of equipment in the next fight/quest even if the equipment you have is legendary in two or three levels it will be far weaker than say a common or rare. I had fun with the game while I was in it but I can’t really recommend it.

I wish I could give this more stars but I can’t justify myself to give it anymore than 2 stars. And that is being generous on my behalf. Screw the dialog if anyone complains about the dialog in the game your wasting your time with the game. There’s too much stuff to do in the game for you to not attempt to click that auto and speed button. And just skip the story all together. Allies option screen lags like no other after a few seconds going into the page. Makes it hard for you to scroll through without it lagging. It has poor battle mechanics. Like others have complained about. Quest in general and quest items are not explained all to well. Leads you to run around trying to figure out the quest or where the item drops. If you are a whale you’ll like this game. By all means, this is a game for you. The devs cater to you specifically. If your f2p, don’t waste your time with this game. All this game pushes and advertises is for you to “buy buy buy”. As far as the RNG. It’s probably one of the greediest games out right now. The most frustrating part is that I’ve played since the game launched and I have yet to get a banner character from my roles in any event so far. I enjoyed the game in the beginning and wanted to like it. But there are too many irregularities with the game that the cons out weigh the pros. Like the title states. Great idea, Bad execution!

First let’s start by saying that the game itself is fun and rewarding in its own way. Secondly, quest guidance is always a nice feature in any game. Third, the art and character designs are nice as well. With that said I seem to have only one gripe with this game which is more than effectively causing me to not want to play anymore, crashes. Particularly when I’m trying to access the “Allies” menu. Not sure why the game is always crashing whenever I try to access the allies menu but it happens. It takes away from game time and especially the ability to spec characters I’ve just summoned. Yes, I’ve tried using the “Fix” thing at the main screen(multiple times) but that didn’t do anything. I’ve tried uninstalling the game and downloading it again but that didn’t fix the issue. I’ve also tried playing with the graphic settings which seem to do nothing as well(no real visible changes if you ask me). At a loss on what to do and oh the game does crash at times as well while just questing and whatnot. PLEASE FIX! Until then my rating won’t change and I may or may not be playing this game anymore.

I really want this to be the game but WTH.. The game is fun and all but the only problem is what is up with so many monsters??? Phantasm In Floor 31 I cant even see my character because the monsters is all up on me.. and it’s hard to move around not trying to agro the next wave I can’t even pass this floor unless I get stronger or something. Y’all need to calm down overflowing a whole bunch of monsters in rifts and phantasm Floors. Another thing is I can’t even tell if the elements is even accurate in this game If I’m using the element that’s stronger than the element that’s weak i should be able to deal dmg enough but these monsters is becoming cancer especially the ones that be over healing themselves like crazy I think the game just need improvement but I will wait until there’s any balance changes on the game.
