1. NIWA’s new Citizen Science App makes this easier than ever by enabling simple data entry for science surveys.

2. Citizen science projects allow members of the public to work on important scientific research.

3. Once surveys are completed, users can see their submissions on the Citizen Science website.

4. When a researcher creates a citizen science survey, it is immediately available, through the Citizen Science App.

5. Other research groups – professional or amateur – can also use this data for other scientific projects.

6. As the data set grows it will become a useful tool for scientists all over the country through NIWA’s comprehensive API.

7. Surveys can be restricted to specific user groups if required.

8. Users can choose from a variety of surveys.

9. Some, such as snow depth or storm assessment, will come and go during the year - others will remain year-round.

Install Citizen Science app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Citizen Science on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Citizen Science"
The search will reveal the Citizen Science app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Citizen Science is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Citizen Science.
Now enjoy Citizen Science on PC.
